I don't think that every with 40+ episodes is necessarily draggy. Some stories actually need a few more episodes…
I never said every 40+ episodes is draggy lol, as someone who has watched many Cdrama shows OVER 40 episodes where things are done well (example, Nirvana in Fire). As for Rise Of Phoenixes, your comment comes as a surprise as even my friends from the Mainland who loved the show said it was draggy at certain points.
The issue is over-saturation leading to misunderstandings. 40+ dramas became the norm, and then many historical and even modern Cdramas followed suit, leading to an influx of series that kept adding unnecessary plot points to take up time and stretch out the series. The 40+ rule is still weird and stupid, but I think it's an opportunity. I just want Cdramas to follow Kdramas style of short and powerful, without every series being long.
TLDR, your 1st sentence was a misinterpretation of what I said and you agree with me.
The problem is he's been inconsistent with his acting, sometimes he's really good and other times he seems to…
It was also with that big scandal with his ex-girlfriend, took a good 2 year chunk of working he could of done after he blew up from the drama Dr. Cutie
Wow. As a long-time fan, it just blows me away how hard he's worked to go from a model to a serious actor. He and Kim Woo Bin have been the two actors that I have seen genuinely do this. I'm so proud of how far they have come by staying true to themselves
One thing I admire about Xu Kai and other actors like him Is he's not a sellout just trying to be popular. He actually wants to act....that's it. LMAOA.
Nicely paced and there's attention to detail. I hope this is a lesson for C-ent to invest in short, more compact,…
On another note, Mr. Jinghu going after Tao seems a bit flawed. Maybe it's my audience privilege and dramatic irony playing a part(since only we saw how Tao tried his best), but for someone who's well-versed in research and careful planning, attacking and desiring Tao's death seems a bit extra.
Tao was only the complaint reviewer, and while the outcome of the case research was unsatisfactory, it would make more sense for Mr. Jinghu to keep him alive and then use him as a public explanation piece before killing him, then going after Empress Dowager.
I'm also wondering about the backstory of Mr. Jinghu. Surviving and then gathering resources in order to investigate and find the connection between these men and the village? It takes money and time. 20 years of unbridled revenge, hate, and suffering...
I can't wait to see his face and his disposition!!

Just finished Longest Day in Chang'an and I'm going to watch this due to the friend partnership dynamic. After I might re-watch Nirvana in Fire for the 4th time
2023 I'm done with tolerating historical romance dramas. LMAO
Li Bi is the stupidest "smart" person ever lolIf he was a girl would have a lot of hateful comments about him…
Facts. It would be worse if this were a kdrama...there would be kpop idol comparisons non-stop.
I like his character. He's a smart idiot that, as shown in the first episode, thinks everything will go his way because he planned it. Pretty sad but funny watching him grow up by force.
Not necessarily. In society, women are shamed and called sluts and whores for even having two men be interested…
It seems you're attracted to certain Asian dramas. What you're describing is not a noticeable known trend, but your own mishaps at choosing shows. It appears your confusion is skewed by your own actions
38 episodes??? Much better👏👍 I hope it isn't because they've cut a log of scenes especially with the leads😒…
Hello once again!! Yeah they did that with She and Her Perfect Husband which pissed me off...there's censoring of evil and then there's stupid censoring of affection and love. Get it together Cdrama reviewers!
LOL! I kept randomly thinking about Wu Lei being in an athletic/sports drama after that he said on social media that he wanted to slow down acting and be a coach or open his own gym on the side.
This looks cute ...I'm not into romance for this year though, I'll binge it awhile after it comes out.
not meant to spoiler: the novels arent really sci fi books.its more like about society and the political atmosphere…
Lol exactly. The sci-fi umbrella is large, it's not something used to diminish something at all. Unrelated, but 1984 was quite the experience. Funny enough, I despised it in highschool. It's one of those novels that gives me an itchy feeling
LOL NIF2 romance is so funny because most of the episodes are a man quietly pining after a woman rather than the other way around. Quite refreshing. But it's good you didn't finish NIF2 because it got really depressing and evil. Realistic ending though

I'm into older actors like Tony Leung but these guys have been holding it doooooown

or Lee Junho or... or... or dammit, anybody else!
