If we ignore the existence of the novel as BL novel, this series with this ending just feels like bromance. Yes, there is obvious feelings between them but they can open up in 12 episodes, really 12 episodes with nearly one hour duration is enough to progress their felling from brothers to lovers and even realization of them being gay. In my opinion they wasted so much time even in last episode while they can use it to show some moments of these two boy.

As a lover of the series, i'm not happy with this ending, even if it is ending of season 1... really let's be rational, we really didn't get any romantic moment between them in this last episode. They suddenly just turned all last episodes to realization episodes and i'm not okay with this because now we are in the mood of this story and this couple and i think this final episode is not satisfying at all... for example if we have 16 or 20 episodes i will be okay for this episode to be still episode 12 because we have more episodes ahead but this is last episode and there is no real confirmation of second season and even if they confirm it we should wait for it for more than a year.

i love it so much, that scene could be wonderful with that kiss instead of just forehead kiss because in this kiss scene you can feel qian completely switch to his boyfriend mode 🫠
