Filler episode. What a waste of a perfectly usable 40 minutes. Are they going to follow the book page by page?…
This is based off the book and the book is about Dean/Korn and Pharm/In. Win/Team had their own book. How they are in the drama is how they are in the book. They really should be listed as supporting and not main. What is happening in the drama happened in the book and yes they are following it to a tee (at least so far). What has happened is they have picked to amazing people to play Win/Team and everyone, including me who loves this drama, would like to see more of them. Maybe they will add more of them in or at least some of their interactions from their story into this one. At least this is how I remember the book. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

The adaption is very faithful and it is playing out on our screen beautifully. I for one definitely feel the FEELS. I wrote the above hoping it might give a different perspective to others not so happy with it so that they might fall in love with this drama as much as I have. But people like what they like or in this case don't like what they don't like and I can completely respect that. The acting and the directing and the editing and the music all work for me. For me the story is there, the details are there, and they have made me smile, cry, laugh out loud, and have 2nd hand embarrassment in every single episode to date. I'm completely entertained.
I see a lot of negative comments about the flashbacks and Pharm crying all the time (Which his acting is soooo amazing!)
These flashbacks are key and necessary. Imagine his emotions as he dreams these dreams and FEELS these feelings and the confusion as to why it all is happening. And Pharm is not alone. Dean is caught up in the inexplicable maelstrom of emotions as much as Pharm and is as drawn to Pharm as much as Pharm is to him, he just does not react the same way, or cry all the time like everyone is saying Pharm does… but there is a reason for that.
They are building on something, moving us in a direction that would simply fall flat (IMHO) if they didn’t present it this way. I recommend to all those who do not like this part of the show to Instead of hating on the flashes of repeated memory and the crying, look past what is front of our eyes and imagine all the feels if you were in his shoes, experiencing what he is feeling, and thinking, and missing, and longing for along with the utter bewilderment he must be experiencing and his very deep pull toward Dean. There is a reason and the full affect would just not be nearly as satisfying if they took shortcuts with this beautiful story. Just my 2 cents.
The theme song has taken a whole new and darker meaning for me now. That caught me off guard. It was like them releasing that now was a twist in the narrative of the episode in of itself. Very nicely done.
I may not like everything Type does but I love his character. It is anything BUT one dimensional. So many new layers revealed every episode. He took some giant steps forward today and maybe a few baby steps backwards. Techno was awesome this episode and Tharn... well as always he was sigh worthy. Can’t wait for next week.
