I'm on ep 3 after finding something just to pass time. I like the ML so I wanted to give this a shot but on ep 3 and the FL is so annoying... I hate when writers depict them as immature and unable to think rationally. Like her toy that broke... she literally pushed him into the shelf causing it to fall. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Aren't strong female leads notoriously the most popular amongst the audience. I think I'm just gonna drop it at this point, seeing all the comments are generally the same...

Her voice was high pitched because of her character as a bubbly blogger who clearly has to watch how she acts in public. If you truly believe she changed her voice to match her different characters in LBFAD that’s literally the same in this drama. Her voice dramatically changes to a lower tone when she talks to him after he comes back from overseas, because she’s no longer the girl who fauns over him. Of course I respect your opinion, which is why I expressed mine freely. But calling the relationship pedophilic because of her VOICE? That’s a strong accusation and it’s evident that freedom of speech and opinion needs some boundaries. Negativity is not supported.
I suggest you look at the good things in life.. lmao 😜

The unforgettable scenes for me are when she gets captured as his slave and after he tries to feed her because she starved herself, she aims the knife for her own throat because she’d rather die than be ridiculed. His anger (knowing she thinks so little of herself now) was HOT. Also when they reunite and he saves her from going into the room where Hao Du is waiting to ambush her and they run through the streets with him smiling from finally finding her, despite being chased by the antagonists hahaha.
I heard Little Woman is really good, I definitely know there are a few big twists but I was basically spoiled of the whole drama so it’s not on my watchlist anymore sadly.

34! Near the beginning when they get home after the charity event and they’re talking about her having been in a relationship in her past life, etc. it’s cute:)

Yeah, I think I saw you comment about that drama before and I said something like how everyone is still in love with Dilraba and YangYang's relationship development. HAHA
I don't mind a slow burn, as long as the story is really good. Like The Long Ballad, as I said before also. No kiss scenes but great story and development. One of my top 3 Cdramas!
I think that's why I was a bit iffy with this one because there were no kiss scenes til the end, but I could handle it. Just wish the story was a bit more cohesive in terms of the organization of the main conflicts-- instead of throwing in a random bird rescue mission lmao (though I did NOT mind his shadow at all 🤭❤️)

the only novel i read was the falling into your smile one... and that was because i was waiting for the drama episodes to come out hahaha. but i needed translations, and they weren't quite correct (you can tell lol).

I agree with you on how high expectations can really ruin one's experience while watching a drama, especially over a pretty hefty length of time...
I personally only watched for the two main leads, both whom I think look so good together. So the hopes of their scenes had me pushing forward even when certain scenes were annoying. Definitely could've taken Gou Fei completely out of the story, along with our most loved second couple HAHA and nothing major would change.
Both the FL and ML made mistakes and had errors in miscommunication that could've been seen by the audience as immature and irresponsible, but I've convinced myself to look over them as both have been infatuated with each other for a while even though nothing really happened to send their relationship to the next level. Especially when the parents came over, and he said he is actually her boyfriend (like NO, y'all never established that officially. Knowing she likes you doesn't mean you get to declare your relationship status) lol.
Anyways, man what a journey. I'm glad it's over but I was also smiling throughout a lot of the drama so I don't regret it.

honestly, i actually enjoyed this couple (not the whole drama, just the couple's parts)
i can see why rumors have started, but there are literally always rumors based on the popularity of the main couple. obviously binbin and esther was adorable, so it's no surprise that many fans want to see them together again.
i would LOVE for them to work again, and hopefully go through a different journey than meiren and zhuang yu (in all aspects possible hahaha) but i honestly think the chances of a season 2 are slim to none.

as for 2nd couple... yeah nobody cares about them anyways lol we all skipped their parts all together

it was cute and an easy watch (unless you had to wait constantly like a lot of us haha) but for sure not a legendary drama i'd see in the top 10.

yeah.. he acknowledged that he knew she was smart based on her knowledge of birds, and put together the dots that the was a teacher instead of a student at the school. (including her weibo account she used to stalk him lol) i guess he realized she got her doctorate because she had to have finished grad school of some sort to maintain her expertise and get a job at a university

that's a very strong opinion... and quite negative actually bc that is her real voice. idk if you prefer the standard monotonous dubbed female lead voices, but it's actually refreshing to have a different voice that actually matches the character in real life.
but then again, you liked the second couple so maybe your priorities are just unusually odd hahaha

After the super long journey of blood sweat and tears (basically just waiting), I'm finally done. 😢
Although the romance was a bit slow, it wasn't that bad bc of the cute scenes every now and then. LOVED when they mentioned zhuang yu's past life as the 2nd Ghost Prince (Eternal Love fans wya), and the change in his character from cold and reserved to warm and expressive, especially towards meiren. It's always sad when you finish a drama, and it only gets worse depending on how good it was. Not just because of the time we devoted into watching each drama, or the time waiting for the eng subs to be released, but also the smiles and frowns we express while watching and knowing we won't be able to empathize with the characters as if they're a part of our lives... Nonetheless I'm glad I finished yet another drama on my ever-growing list!

If anyone is hesitant to watch, I suggest giving it a shot for the main couple because they are so cute (I recently finished Love Between Fairy and Devil and imo esther's compatibility with BinBin seems more like a couple than her friend-like relationship with Dylan... don't come at me pls hahaha).
