I would love to know too. In epi 27, I did notice that in their scenes together, you clearly see the ML positioned lower than the emperor multiple times. Yes that’s Normal but I felt like the director made it blatantly obvious and wanted to remind us of the power dynamic - the male lead will never be truly tight with the emperor.
