Here's the recap of ep 9, hope it will be helpful :)
- Akira got startled seeing hijiri on the ship. He then asked her why. Hijiri told that because akira said "this is the last time" on the phone that's why she's being worried. Akira told her that "the last time" meant that the last time he run after sensei. And he said that he's doing fine and told sensei to going back. But hijiri can not return as the ship is sailing. Lol
- Akira then explained that he want to see his dad secretly because he accidently received a letter from his dad (told that he return to japan from bali). Hijiri took an inisiative to inform akira's mom but akira insist that he will inform instead (but he lied)
- Akira finally meet his dad after 13 years. Akira's dad thought that hijiri was his girlfriend but both of them denied and hijiri introduced herself as a former homeroom teacher. Hijiri then thought to going back but unfortunately the ship only sail once a day. And she has no choice than to stay over.
- Akira's mom was desperate to find him and even went to shotaro's place asking for help to contact hijiri. Haraguchi then caught an idea that the couple might be run away or something. Shotaro can't believe that hijiri will doing something stupid like that. Haraguchi then said "it doesn't matter if you're an idiot or a genius when it comes to love, everyone will do the same" totally agree with this.
- Akira's dad invited them to his house. There akira asked him why he divorced. His dad said that akira will understand if he loves someone someday. Akira then said he already has someone that he likes. His dad guess that if it would be sensei. Akira answer "it has to be sensei, i dont think i can like someone else" and hijiri absolutely heard what he said secretly.
- After doing some shopping for staying over a night. Akira and hijiri stopping by and sitting together by the sea. Hijiri told akira that she didn't know that akira likes sunset, and even rainbow chocolate and such. Akira bluffing that he knows many things about sensei. Hijiri then told akira that she already revealed about what happened between them at school. She said that she doesn't want to hide it anymore. Akira then hug her and told that he will protect her from now on. He said he will go independent, looking for a job and such (quit school) and live with sensei no matter what. Hijiri didn't agree with that idea (about quitting school) and went back home.
- Hijiri then found out from shotaro that akira lied about already inform his mom. She got angry and insist to leave the house.
- After sensei leaves, akira's dad encourage him that if he loves sensei then he shouldn't run away and just face it. He didn't want akira to be like him that run away after found out his wife has someone else.
- Jump to the scene where akira rescued hijiri. He said "why you didn't called me? Please don't makes me worry" hijiri then apologize. After that they found an empty cabin.
- In the cabin akira keep the distance from hijiri. He refused to approach hijiri even though hijiri insist him to come at the first place. He said "I'm a man after all. So i'd better stay here. Beside, this is my fault that we were end up here" hijiri then walk toward him and said that she agree with that. Everything is Akira's fault. If she didnt meet him, she wouldn't quit from school, and so many things that she's going through was akira's fault. that's why she keeps run away from him and trying to forget. But in the end, she can't do it because she feels the same way too. She said she was also still the same as the day at firework festival and from that beach at night. She was still the same just like Akira. And in the end she confessed that she likes him too. That's why Akira gave a hug and kiss her.
I like how mature and realistic Akira was. He refused to approach hijiri when they're alone in the cabin even though hijiri insist him to come at the first place. He said "I'm a man after all. So i better stay here" i can't remember how many times i replay that part. Brilliant.
What did she say in the last scene? Please tell me

If she didnt meet him, she wouldn't quit from school, and so many things that she's going through was akira's fault. that's why she keeps run away from him and trying to forget. But in the end, she can't do it because she feels the same way too. She said she was also still the same as the day at firework festival and from that beach at night.
