Despite ITSAY being very poetic, sometimes it was too much poetics for me. Plus, I didn't experience that so I ressonated less with me. IPYTM is much more raw, without losing the visual quality.
The confusion of being in a long term relationship and mistaking care/admiration of others as atraction is very common, people just don't talk about it.
My only complain would the the way Oh Aew has been reduced to a supporting charachter. Maybe next episode will balance this out.
I don't know if I necessarily agree with this being some master plan of Jai's to seduce Teh into a better performance…
He didn't said it was a master plan from Jai, but undoubtly at some point Jai realized Teh was attracted to him and pushed him into that. He even said "good job" at the end.
OMGGGGGG!!!!! Wow I just realised it this is actually so true maybe he started that whole thing too with Ms. May…
I wouldn't take it that far as his relationship with the teacher being fake. But after that talk while walking in the streets he defnetily saw that he could push Teh into this and that Teh was confused/somehow attracted to him.
Then he played hard, saying all that stuff about his ex and brining the wine to the class.
In the end is all Teh's fault, but Jai induced the whole situation for self benefit.
I think most people are losing the point that Jai activelly seduced and induced Teh to do that so that he would be the perfect actor for his play.
The way he changed his aproach after Teh says he would do anything to make Jai's dream come true left this very clear.
Teh isn't method acting. He is confused AF and manipulated by a unscrupulous director which he undeniably feels atracted to. He's just naive and can't differentiate stuff. Too bad that by doing this he fucked up with Oh Aew.
This time I won't be a Teh apologist, but I see that in the end it was Jai's plan to make him do that.
I don't understand why this have less rate but Imdb choose this series as one of the best drama to represent Asian…
MDL BL ratings tend to be rigged by stans of popular BL shows. They mass rate popular/acclaimed shows with lower scores to make their favs look better. Don't take MDL BL rating seriously.
I loved this episode. I know people are going to point fingers at only one characther, but fuck them. The series plot is constructed in a way we can see the flaws of both, people just tend to see only one's mistakes and act as if the other one is a saint.
Don't treat BL as a synonim for low quality series. Specially Thai BL has left this impression cause they didn't…
I understood that you wanted to say that it's a milestone for the demographic, and indeed it is, but the word choice left it leaning more into "'it's not bl, it's a proper series" cliche.
Let's be honest, this is not as good as ITSAY. It's still better than everything else that's not ITSAY, but there…
I found some cuts rough and the dubbing in some scenes evident, a thing we didn't see happening in ITSAY. But that's all the complains I have.
The speed up pace I believe it is necessary, cause while the slow burn matched the peaceful beaches of Phuket, it could become boring in a major city like Bangkok. Also I liked it better that this director doesn't indulge too much on crying/over dramatic scenes (this was one thing I felt ITSAY was on the verge of being over and cheesy).
But I agree with your feeling that this is above all other thai bl, but still close behind ITSAY. I hope next episodes can prove me wrong.
I know everyone knows it already... but this is like not a BL I would say. Its a proper series, regardless of…
Don't treat BL as a synonim for low quality series. Specially Thai BL has left this impression cause they didn't have sponsors and low quality was the only way to make it.
Don't dismiss the demographic to praise IPYTM, IPYTM probably only happened cause BL became a profitable industry in Thailand. As any other YA industry in the world, BL has it's own clichés, but have its gems.
This speech "It's not BL, It's a proper series" is horrible.
I'm not disappointed at all with this first episode! I like to see Teh this confident with his relationship. The…
Oh Aew is spoiled, so he wants to be where is confortable for him (in this case, be with his friends and Teh). He could have gone, that party was no big deal. I found it a little too much for him to cry over the bouquet, yeah teh could have kept it but let's be pratical, it's not a handy thing to have with while dinning hahahaha.

I believe it was supposed to be Bad Buddy, but filming was delayed due to covid. I think they'll re run some old bl

Let's hope it will get subs.
