i don't think i'll ever stop being annoyed with how they killed pildo, it was so flippant and my king deserved better than that. that final episode was such a rollercoaster of emotions

i feel like they really missed out on an opportunity with only making them get together in the last episode. one of my favourite things about this type of drama is watching how the bickering friendship turns into romance over time and it feels like they completely skipped all that for xiaoju's character, it really felt like her feelings changed completely out of nowhere within the space of an episode.

i really liked all the characters in this show but my god it was slow paced and i feel like you could literally skip some of the episodes and not miss anything
