I agree that Chu Kehuan should have dumped his user GF years ago. Don't know whether is cowardice or just sheer…
I hope we learn more about that as the drama progresses. Maybe because I'm not looking at it from an Asian perspective, but no promise would keep me in that kind of relationship for so many years.
I really dislike the ML's girlfriend, she is such a weak girl who lives off her boyfriend's money and keeps on…
I agree that Chu Kehuan should have dumped his user GF years ago. Don't know whether is cowardice or just sheer indifference and not wanting to deal with it. It seems like he's been working non stop for many years, and before he met Zhou Wei Wei he might not have realized just how unhappy he was.
Wow that whole scene between Kehuan and Wei Wei when they were alone at CK house was so well acted and electric! This episode delved more into the very off kilter relationship Kehuan and his GF and make me understand a bit why CK has such an interest in ZW as she's very different from the woman he is used to.
The director told Jasper to imagine himself like a hooligan to get in the role because Chu Kehuan is dangerously…
It's certainly not a typical role for him. The way he's written certainly makes the viewer uncomfortable which I assume, given the shows darker theme, is ths point.
Che Kehuan gives off serious creeper vibes in the first episode. The leads' chemistry is very strong, but I wasn't expecting him to be a stalker basically. He definitely isn't pretending to be a nice guy or a faithful one at that. 2nd episode preview looks intense, but I'm hoping the show tones down his overly aggressive character because him manhandling the FL like that is not ok or sexy.
Some of the deviations from the book I didn't like. Mostly the way they changed Yan Mo's backstory to up the angst factor, but making Wu Yi and Guan Chao a couple was a change I love because I totally shipped them while reading the book.
It always makes me sad to see how adoption and adopted children are treated in kdramas so I'm glad that there seems to be more dramas in the last few years that are trying to show that what makes a family is not necessarily a blood-connection, but a connection of caring and love for another person related or not.
This is definitely the most melo Taiwanese drama I've ever watched, but it is still one of my favorites. Was it the best drama ever? No, the story had pacing problems, especially at the end, and the secondary story lines bored me, but that aside I still loved it. The main story just managed to hit that sweet spot of angst, humor, and romance mixed together really well. And look at that last picture. 10 years on they're still adorable together!
I watched the first episode, and even for a tdrama the premise makes no sense. Maybe I missed something because I'm depending on subtitles, but why would Ke Ai and her mother assume the responsibility to pay off another family member's debt in the first place? If they're afraid of being threatened why not just go to the police?
I'm on 7 and LOVING this show. Gu Wei Li is my favorite ML lead in a long time, and I really like how the FL is written as well. 7 was a really funny episode! The chewing gum that wasn't had me cracking up so hard.
If you're looking for a romance with lots of intense moments and passion this drama definitely isn't for you as the couple is very laid back and understated (a waste of LJSs kissing skills honestly, but oh well). As a slice of life, lazy day watch it works great, and I liked it for that. A warm drama with mostly likable characters.
I only watched two of the dramas mentioned. Secretary Kim, despite its popularity, was a basically plot-less drama that rested solely on the chemistry of the two leads. Don't get me wrong, that chemistry was lit, but not enough to make me finish that drama. Despite the story-line being bleaker than bleak most of the time I thought Children of Nobody was an excellent drama.
Saito Takumi would be my number one if I ranked this list. The voice alone makes me happy. Throw in that face with those lips!! I'm a goner just dreaming about it.
