Anyway yeah I used to believe the same as you. I have only watched 1 BE drama before (One&Only), but I gotta admit I’m satisfied with the ending here. Plot and character wise, it’s a poignant and hopeful ending imo ^^
Then again! Lots of dramas out there with awesome HE so I wish you all the fun watching! :D
12 hours since I finished watching the ending, and I haven’t been able to sleep. Can’t get out of it all 🥲
If anything, after 12hours I no longer think of it as BE/SE but instead as an OE. And a hopeful one at that. Happy and relieved at TTJ finally deciding his own fate. Also helped by LYX expressions there. On point 👏🏻

My thoughts on the ending… As I said earlier, I LOVED the finale. Yes it was bittersweet, yes it was painful…

TTJ expressions at the end when talking to LSS, he was really at peace with everything and I’m really glad that he finally could choose the way he died. As a hero. Considering he knew his whole miserable life was the design of ADG, this kind of ending for him is really poignant. He finally broke through his predestined fate and could choose!
It was beautiful. I would have loved to see more emotions on LSS but I also understand at the point she was already a goddess who broke through the Heartless Way so probably not proper to have such extreme emotions? And plus like she knew it was her fate to kill the demon god no matter who it was. Her love matters very little in the grand scheme of things and I kinda love that the ultimate task is not abandoned in the name of love. Would have loved to see a longer crying scene at the tomb too but yeah I get the scenes cut.
Also yes! I choose to interpret it as OE coz his conscience albeit a little is still in that scale! Give him more time and he will come back :)
All in all, first drama with this kind of ending that I’m satisfied with :)
Finally a refreshing, thought-provoking show that respects its adult audience (ML is not a goody two shoes/FL…
I especially love that they don’t go for “abandon goals for love” trope. Even when it’s agains their personal wish, each of them (be it MY SJ LSS TTJ) still went on to do the painful but right thing.
Airing restrictions and lost scenes aside, this one is really excellent. This is only my second BE/SE drama (I usually avoid them like plague), but I have to admit it fits this story, and esp TTJ character best.
I’m still hoping for those HE epilogue like mad, but the fact that it ends this way does not take away from the drama at all imo

I may be super sad about the ending but it’s still awesomely good imo. In terms of charater TTJ was at peace with his choice. For once he’s the saviour, not a harbinger of chaos and destruction. In terms of romance, I want those extra epilogue episodes and another BL LYX drama as soon as possible, as many as possible please please please
