This reminds me of Lee Chae-ha's character in *The Prosecutor's Proposal*, specifically when he says, "I want to prove I'm not like my father." The scene was incredibly moving and evoked a deep sense of pity for him; he constantly feels that the harm his father inflicted on society somehow falls on his shoulders, and that he is obligated to bear the consequences of actions he didn't commit and had no part in.

It's sad that there are still those in society who judge people based on their parents' professions or past actions :(

In line with Justin's current issue, I just want to share something here.

I grew up in a very religious and coservative household. At ages 15-17 I was really homophobic. I went through an identity crisis at 18 and almost unalived myself; struggled to accept myself and my sexuality, but somehow I slowly accepted it and I turned out to be someone who's"not straight."

What I'm trying to say is that at that age, what we say and do is not our own, but a reflection of the environment that we lived in and the people that surrounds us. I wouldn't be surprised to see myself at 15 or 16 reposting the same things.

I'm not asking you to enable his behavior, but to give him a chance to redeem himself, just like how I redeemed mine. What I am in my teen years does not define who I am going to be as an adult. I support cancel culture, but only to those who truly deserve it.

I think you're right that Justin shouldn't have his life ruined but it doesn't mean he should not face consequences of his actions. He can have a new chance in a few years if he changes.

You keep attacking the show though because he was fired by GMMTV and that's wrong.

i love almondprogress with my whole heart, same goes for kenpaul. i'm definitely not supporting justin, but seeing people rate the series low is sad. i love this a lot and i dont get why anyone would waste the cast's efforts just because of one problematic actor

I was disappointed in him too because of what he did, but that doesn't give anyone the right to insult or belittle him, etc. It's true that "what goes around comes around" and that he should face the consequences of his actions, but we should give him a chance to learn from his mistakes because humans make mistakes, and we all do. So we have to learn to do the right thing. Look at many of the actors we watch; they have a repulsive side, they've done terrible things, and they've said inappropriate things. So when you watch a series, separate the character they portray from their real personality, because their real personality is completely different from the character the actor plays on screen. I hope he learns from what happened to him, makes an effort to think before acting, and becomes a better person. Frankly, he is talented and deserves a second chance, but I hope he gets it once he has become mature, self-aware, and level-headed.

tbh, I try to be offline as much as possible, and avoiding these kind of news is one of the reasons. it's not that I want to be alienated - actually it's good that we discover these shit before it gets too late - however, I don't want to get too attached to actors anymore. I don't want to mix things up.
as someone who has seen many, many, many public people show their true selves and disappoint me, I guess I am able, now, to separate the fictional character from the actor. or the story from the author, and so one. because it's just not fair to blame the whole team or the fictional characters (poor august) who don't even have anything to do with it T-T (ofc there are exceptions, like, I wouldn't bring myselkf to watch a series when the fucked up actor is the mc)

so I came here to say two things:
1 - I think the main reason Justin's case weights so much in my mind is 'cause of his age. my god, he's only 15. he obviously is old enough to distinguish right and wrong, so wtf was he thinking? he should be doing what his character is doing in the series, reading comics, falling in love, idk, teenage stuff. not that he's not able to be into politics... but *this* is scaring as hell

I just feel.... so sad, I guess? I saw someone comment that he was just one in a million of boys who have this kind of behavior, and I'll just hope that he changes with time. I mean, truly changes. not because of him, or because of us, but because I hate the thought of knowing there are so many young people out there with those terrifying points of view.

2 - as I said, please do not hate the series. It is still a comforting and really good show, and the story does not revolves around Justin. Give it a break if you need to, but don't make it all about one person. at least for now.

I actually liked your calm and reason in dealing with the haters here. But then you had to bring in the god and now you lost me! I respect your faith : I just think it has to stay private. Religions have brought a lot of good to this world but even more bad, throughout history and still today.

Guess he made history by having the shortest tenure at GMMTV. The company probably should've held off on giving him acting roles so soon and maybe spend more time vetting his background. This couldn't be more embarrassing for GMMTV. Sure hope they learn from this and be more careful about who they sign in the future.
