That is not how it ends but due to copyright laws they had to cut the ending off. But spoiler alert it does have a happy ending. She wakes up and gets pissed at what he did. Then searches for the items, gets the older lady heal his legs (personally I would of kicked his ass for that stunt) after a few more ordeals and happiness of finding him and the joy and love he shows when seeing her. We'll it makes for a great happy ending.
