What are you guys saying? I thought the ending was good like obvs the writer wanted to teach us that its okay for toxic people to be with each other instead of seeking help or that why bother with all that heartbreak if you know its gonna break you all over again or what the fuck is the point of this drama honestly it was a waste of time. I learned nothing. Zero. What a waste of good plot material from the webtoon. The writers were sensible and progressive enough to write about same sex relationship and dilemma about being in an open relationship/friends with benefits but the moment they have to write about having a decent ending for the leads, who obvs have issue with themselves and with each other, suddenly all reasons and sense were thrown out the window. I dont get it at all because by the last episode, there was little to none character development between the two leads. My god and not to mention the last episode was a snoozefest, thank god for 1.5x speed on netflix

Ah I see. Yeah it did look like she was back in 2015 but yeah she's still in 2020, there was so much change in her timeline was because jinwoo helped by changing it
Funny how Sisyphus has a more popular cast but is completely trash compared to this. Sisyphus just can't seem…
I think you misunderstood a little? There is no time travel in this show. It is more of a time wrap where the future connects with the past. 2020 jungin contacted 2015 jinwoo. So technically 2015 jungin exists at the same time with 2015 jinwoo. So from the pov of 2015 jinwoo, there are 2 jungins: one in HIS future and the other one in HIS present.
This is my first time hearing a drama getting cancelled due to controversy. Are there any more such cancelled drama?
I think this is the first drama that has been cancelled. Most dramas that had issues were either cut short (eg. from 16 eps to 12 eps) or they changed cast (like the case with na inwoo replacing jisoo) or they edited out the characters/scene completely
Woah hold your horses. I get that you are mad about the show cancelling but korean audiences have legit concerns…
Hold on, dont give up! Korea has a lot of good filmographies that dont have these types of concerns and issues. If you are new to korean shows and movies then i suggest you dive a bit more into their other genres. But if you are a long time watcher, still, dont give up! Theres a lot more better stories out there
Woah hold your horses. I get that you are mad about the show cancelling but korean audiences have legit concerns…
Like other people have said, they could continue on with the drama if they changed to fictional characters instead of historical figures. They cancel it because the big sponsors like samsung and lg decided to not sponsor the show anymore due to public outrage. Basically, when the big guys pull their money out, they have no funds to continue. Netflix can take the drama and release it but this is not about "it is just a tv show", it is about cultural issues and cultural sensitivities that are rooted deeply in the ties of china and korea. If i dare to say it, this is more of a culture-political issues. East Asia has a deeply interwoven web of cultural relationship and it makes sense that they can influence each other but they do have distinct features of their own.
I'm going on a tangent here but i get where you are coming from, it doesnt make sense for us non koreans but it does to them because it is their history and i think that if we dont like at how they are feling offended then at least we should respect it
Woah hold your horses. I get that you are mad about the show cancelling but korean audiences have legit concerns…
And i would like to add that im sorry for the cast and crew members that their hard work couldnt be seen on screen, It sucks that all their efforts came down to nothing. I hope the cast and crews arent financially affected by this
Fuck Korea. Fuck China. Fuck the entertainment industry in these countries. Most of all, fuck the audience for…
Woah hold your horses. I get that you are mad about the show cancelling but korean audiences have legit concerns about the show. The show itself distorted a lot of history. Koreans are not mad about it being historical fiction.
1. The 3rd king of joseon depicted in the drama is a crazy man who hallucinated and slaughtered his people with his sword. In reality, the swords he used were to protect his citizens and to fight off japanese pirates invading korea.
2. The 3rd king of joseon in the drama killed his son by trapping him in a freezer. In reality, it is reported that the king loved his children and when his youngest died at a young age, he was grief stricken.
3. The show also features sejong before he became a king. King sejong is the most respected king in south korea but in the show sejong acts like a servant to a priest from europe.
4. Speaking of a priest from europe, iirc christianity didnt enter joseon until 15/16th century (correct me if im wrong)
5. If you have been following the recent tension between south korea and china, with china claiming kimchi, hanbok etc as theirs, you have to know koreans are sensitive about their culture (and they have valid reasons to be sensitive). So when the show depicted the characters wearing armor or using swords or even eating food thats clearly of chinese origin and not korean when the show is clearly set in joseon dynasty, well people got mad (refer to my 1st sentence in point no. 5)
What im trying to say is, there are valid reasons as to why the korean audiences are angry and before you throw criticisms about the show cancelling, well try to look into what their concerns are. And if you feel that it is unfair that the show gets cancelled because koreans were offended by how their own history is being distorted, then i suggest that you need to at least try being a little bit sympathetic.
Omg ep 6, Jin Woo literally losing his cool, I mean even voice recording could be fabricated or if it's real there…
I was taken aback at the trap spoiler haha cause i havent seen it yet but yes i do hope that this show wouldnt end up with jinwoo being the main culprit
Can someone explain the setting? Is it just set in the future, or is it like a dystopia?
I think both? From the trailer it looks like a dystopia and from the synopsis on netflix, it does mention something about someone coming from the future
