From the production team: "Not only is this a unilateral announcement without consultation a serious problem, but this is an attempt to artificially achieve an artificial budget surplus by postponing the originally planned drama," and "This is a unilateral decision without prior consultation, and isn't MBC turning into a rebroadcast channel for Disney+?"
“Based on the recent success of Friday-Saturday dramas, the production team and external production companies are coming back to MBC, and this scheduling is an act of destroying the trust that has been built up.”
Only person that I've seen confirm that they will be returning so far is Go Youn Jung as she soft confirmed that she will be returning to play Jang Hui Su as said by herself on her fan cafe, nobody else has confirmed from what i've seen yet

According to the article the production team for season 2 has been preparing step by step, such as informing the main actors of the progress and also informing them of the change in director. Kang Full is currently concentrating on the script for season 2, and will begin pre-production in May of this year with the goal of being able to film in March of 2026. Probably won't see this before 2027 i'd assume
Sounds like there could possibly be a season 3 in the future? Director Shin Won Ho at a recent said he thinks it depends entirely on the viewers. He also said he still stressed about a possible season 3. The actors and viewers put pressure on him and in the end if he makes it it would be out of stress (jokingly) 😅.
Kinda the most important part is that he said "If the viewers tell us to do Hospital Playlist (Season 3), then I think we'll have to think about it from then on." With how much viewers have asked for it, it's might come at some point!
