The kiss was great and cinematic. I think from harem story this drama came on screen with a great respect for women. The way, Xu Qi A told Lin A that in another world women are equal to men, and if they don't want to seek love, they can buy a house and live with friends. That was great. I love how Lin An went to travel, to explore the world. Hopefully she comes back with a new perspectives as well. Ah, I love that Xu family moved to a new house. And hey, flashback to EP15 when XQA aunt kneel down to ask that lady to help her, but this episode roles are reversed. I love that XQA was promoted, but still maintains his silly attitude with his friends. And who is that fox girl character? The ending was so thrilling and they ended on cliffhanger again. I can't wait for tomorrow!

majority of international fans of cdrama watch romance stories. To compare with WHD's work, Only For Love is worse…
The Untamed? Actually, if I think about it, I don't think that there are that many. Joy of Life was very successful in China, and it spread internationally so some cdrama fans watched it, but it's not as popular as some romance dramas. She and Her Girls got 9.4 on Douban in 2024 and it's available on WeTV (at least in my region) but I doubt that many people watched it. Majority love idol dramas with strong romance element. I think platforms as iqiyi, wetv, etc know it and push romance content in the promotion. Majority of shorts uploaded on their social media accounts from Guardians of the Dafeng are CP.

Am i the only one who thinks this show is kinda underappreciated on this site? Maybe because it doesn't focus…
majority of international fans of cdrama watch romance stories. To compare with WHD's work, Only For Love is worse plot-wise, but it was a huge international hit. People rate it poorly, but shorts on tiktok and YouTube got millions of views. And no, I am not going to bring OFL down, I enjoyed it to a certain extent and it had many sweet moments. But that's what audience likes. I never expected Guardians of the Dafeng to perform very well internationally.

Should i wait or i should watch 😂🔥I don't like serious cliffhangers
it's not that serious, imo. but I just hate when they end on the most exciting moment.

I understood that by Episode 22, I am so attached to all the characters. Grand Princess is not a bad person, and she cares for Lin An, she knows her taste in food and what can bring you to let out her emotions. I loved that Xu family returned again, and we get to see their interactions. Yang Qianhuan is hilarious, and I love people from academy and astronomical bureau. (caiwei ate 2 bowls of noodles, huh). Wei Yuan basically confirms that Emperor doesn't like XQA, wonder what troubles it will bring to him. And wow, who ends episode on a cliffhanger like that! One episode per day is truly torture.

I really was quite surprised to go to social media and find that people don't like Lin An THAT MUCH. First of all, we don't see her until episode 6 (?) and after that she doesn't have that much of impact on a story till episode 20-21 to people to feel so strongly about her. Yes, she's childish, but Xu Qi An is childish too. Yes, she deceived him, but he approached her because he thought her power will help him to progress in his career/life. She has a lot of mother issues, she is constantly being viewed as somebody who should help her brother, constant competition and comparison with Huaiqing. Yes, she does stupid things like going to her father while Huaiqing was asking for XQA but she didn't know that. And when she did eventually get to know, she asked for XQA without hesitation. I think nor her, nor XQA are perfect which kinda makes it interesting.

contemplating when to start this... I'm desperately looking for transmigration series for some reason these days…
see if this is your style. there's some of foreshadowing episodes to get established in the Dafeng world and it is done with a lot of humor. actually, first episodes are not meaningless, you would understand ML, his relationships and how Dafeng operates on a basic level. cases in the first episodes would be connected to ones in the future. but it's all worth it at least up till now, this is a great experience.

EP. 21 is so good. I felt very touched at Princess Pingyang and Heng Hui story. It's interesting how they made her motivation to explore the world, though I think she liked Heng Hui but not to the level to run away. Cried when Lin An appeared to identify her friend, and cried even more when her mother brought pomegranates. At the same time, I was so charmed by Yang Qianhuan is such a dramatic and hilarious guy (the laughs when he fell down). Fighting scene was great, very engaging to watch. I can't wait what happens next, show keeps on delivering and I feel so attached to all characters already!

Does anyone know the episode where Linan’s mother rewards her with milk cakes and she doesn’t like, afterwards…
It's Episode 10

In fact, fans spent a lot of money today and did everything what they as fans could do. But fandom and data battle like popularity heat is basically done by WHD fanbase. I think it's still pretty impressive with what XDH achieved because his fandom is basically carrying data aspect of this drama, and already brought a lot of money to Tencent. That being said, there are a lot of people watching this drama, 50 million daily views is not something fans on their own can achieve. Maybe because it's more gender-balanced audience (many males watching) that data of this drama is not as good if they did idol drama with a lot of romance and all. Male audience doesn't care about data as much. It's okay, it expanded Wang Hedi's range and provided exposure to a different audience. I read some post that usually good male-centric dramas exploded in the later stage or had a good long-tail effect, where people started watching drama after it ended. Let's hope that GOFTD plot delivers.

For me, Guardians of the Dafeng is such a wonderful experience. I don't mind romance, it seems like a secondary plot. The main plot is still main protagonist journey and world of Dafeng. I love how well-written all characters are, they have their goals, agendas and stories. The plot is very progressive and fast paced. There's a lot of mystery to unfold, many interesting turns and twists, almost every episode we are discovering something/someone knew. At the same time, series does not forget where it started. For example, the way Tax Silver Case is tied to Sanbo case. Moreover, comedy and humor allows to audience to have a breather from a plot that can get quite intense. I think visually, Guardians of the Dafeng is such a pleasing drama, with money well spent. CGI looks fantastic, details of the world and magic is very well-drawn. The scenery of desert and mountains are spectacular. This is such a great experience as a drama watcher.

Watched all 4 episodes (bought express). Very fun! The comedy aspect of this is hilarious, pacing is fast. I really like how quick, hilarious and witty Xu Qi An is. I love how they keep throwing all these hints about injustice and how Xu Qi A can't stand it. The drama also looks amazing, CGI parts look great.
