I honestly prefer reply 1988 to 1997.. It left a bigger impression on me.. The romance was really cuuute! AND…
Thanks for trusting my recommendation! Reply series are just so wonderful to watch. I also watch Youth Over FLowers Laos and Africa which featured Reply 1994 and Reply 1988 guys. They're like their characters in the series.
I really enjoyed this show. It brings back memories of Reply 1994. Son Ho Jun is really like Haitai in real life. I was touched by their struggles as rookie artists in Korea especially Ho Jun. Mama Yeon Seok is the friend I want to go with when I travel. Baro is just cute and fun to watch.
I'm actually glad I knew the husband way before I decided to watch or I probably would have been aggravated at…
Good for you. I also had a hard time guessing the husband in Reply 1994 and it follows the formula in Reply 1997. This Reply 1988 is just so different among the three but in a very good way. The good thing is that Hye Ri and Jun Yeol end up being a real life couple. <3

Please watch Reply 1994. It may not be as bigger hearted story as depicted in Reply 1988 but I assure you to have a good laugh and cry and you will also appreciate the bond and friendship of the gang as well as with the Sung couple (Dong Il and Il Hwa). The formation of the gang is different from Reply 1997 & Reply 1988.
The most hilarious part would be the failed audition piece of Ra Mi Ran, I laughed so hard in that scene.
To the OTP, I believed in the formula from the previous Reply series that the main female lead will end up with the male character whom she always fight with and live under one roof. I was wrong!
I had a quite hard time keeping up with this new group probably because I just watched Reply 1997 in which they were having the same concept, friendship. But this one is a more mature representation of friendship in their 20's or college life. I couldn't predict easily who will be the husband of NaJung. I just believed in the pattern of circumstances from Reply 1997 from the love story of a girl to her almost brother to another couple from the group which I really really like (I love the Beauty and The Beast couple!). I also love the almost bromance of Bringgae and Trash. I love how this series ended by showing how the Sinchon Boarding House be the foundation of their friendship.
There are many factors why this series is so wonderful. The friendship of the main casts, parent-children relationship, hilarious fangirling, brotherhood (one of the best scenes), love story of the two couple and the bromance of the two characters (Yoon Jae is the man! I really love how he handled things about Jun Hee liking him).
Despite having a cliche plot this movie has a place in my heart. The character development to the nostalgic atmosphere…
The story is somehow similar to Carzy Little Thing Called Love by Mario Maurer with a plot twist that the female lead does not fall in love to the man she had crush on.
This drama is so wonderful to watch. I can't help but think my future as I watch every stories of the elders. I love that Jo In Sung has more exposure than expected. I love their tandem with Go Hyun Jung.

Lee Chang looks like Park Seo Jun in Hwarang character.
Looking forward to Season 2!
