Yeah I was confused about that part too & he said that Eun Gyeol had a ''jam session'' with her dad but I don't remember that happening on any of the episodes I guess will find out later on & no the phone call was not shown I'm guessing something very important happened but they aren't showing us yet.

Once you watch it If you're a sucker for romance it starts unfolding around ep 5-6 so be patient lol but it is kinda slow burn but also the plot is pretty good & the characters are great.

Amazing first episode the child actors were great. I must say thoo it seems like she gets found already I would've liked to see maybe just a little bit of her surviving in the island & showed some hardships big miss there from the writers.
