summer desire was one of my old favorite ( read the manga too ), general and I - I read the book, the drama was ok I wouldn't say it was great as there were many changes but the changes are not as bad as this drama haha.
I was looking at to watch 'princess agent' as that is an adaption as well but I kinda of put it off due to tragic ending - I read half of the novel before. Another one I am looking at to watch is 'A Life Time Love' adaption from the novel Once Promised by Tong Hua, thinking if I should read the novel first. Male lead is Angelababy husband Huang Xiaoming - his not bad looking lol
And yes pity the actor for Rong Zhi, he seems to look really good in those posters together like a pair of faithful lovers - oh well looking forward to his future dramas I guess

I know right? yes! eternal love and Love O2O are the only adaption I watched that was super good ( because they follow the novel correctly!). Pity this drama the guy playing Rong Zhi seems not bad in terms of looks.
They took out time travelling and made the 'lost memories theory' which seems like a cop out to me - like they didn't know what to do with the rest half of the drama type of thing and now we are stuck with a completely different story and different personality all of the sudden lol

I am not sure if he actually slept with her, but from this other trailer it looks like he plan to and actually likes her as well ( in the trailer, Rong Zhi tells off Chu Yu asking her to apologies to the concubine as he thinks she pushed her - I assumed this chick would be a concubine ranking as Chu Yu is a princess ). Also there was another trailer showing him hugging the concubine affectionately unless its all fake and it is all his scheming. which i doubt.
I assumed this all happens in the rest of the drama after they lost their memories and she is sent to marry him. So stupid on the wedding day he marries the other girl the same time. Someone on youtube made a ranting video about it as well, I'll link it here for anyone to see . But yes like you I feel like they tarnished Rong Zhi character, regardless if he slept with that concubine or not - there is another girl that seems to like him, to me i feel like his relationship is a big mess with another 2 random girls.
The beginning of the drama is not bad because it follows the novel but after it looks really silly, like I don't know why Chu Yu character seem to change to silly? I dropped the drama after seeing these trailer as I cannot bear - since I love the novel so much, such a disappointment- UNLESS these are all lies and it just a whole scheming plot? but then what's up with the comedy? ( why she on the roof watching him consummate with the concubine?)
