I can relate to some of yall. the thing is at ep 1 it was boring for me, it literally took me a week to finish ep 1. But I'm glad I stayed cuz it progressively keeps getting better, like ep 2 was better that ep1, vice versa. So if you just watched ep 1 and think it's too boring, you should stay and watch till ep 4, your op will prolly change.
Flashback you mean the narration at the end of ep 10? Do they say that is from a "currrent" point 15 years later?…
the person locked up in prison is a man. i didn't hear them call him Gil Chae😂😂 I feel so bad for FL, she really doesn't deserve this hate. Yall just ignored her growth & ennobling personality

I think she's telling a story of how she and ML met, it was def her voice over during that swing scene (I don't think it's in ep 1 tho) but she's definitely narrating the story

in the beginning of ep one, the caption said...Spring of 1659 the 10th year if Hyojung. Then after that short, confusing intro they flashed back to 1636, the 14th year of Injo'a reign- when Gil Chae & & Jang Hyun met
he only teased the female in the earlier eps because he wanted to be hard to get, cuz GC had the tendency to dispose…
My comment was quite vague, I just typed that on the spur of the moment and didn't think anyone would deeply involve it. But FL is definitely not being left out in terms of criticism, she's taking the hit.
So we saw Gil Chae rise. Her crucial life decision was fully influenced by the obsessive Ryang Eum, if it was…
I don't know abt anything else, but I definitely don't see him winning in that battle unless someone intervenes & that's a bit far-fetched, but still...

You're seriously misunderstanding my words, I wasn't speaking from my perspective (totally)...I was speaking from the perceived perspective people have of him. if you check my earlier comments you'll know that I extremely love the ml and I don't blame anyone for anything that happened in the end, cuz it was likely!! Maybe I'll rephrase my statement...before he met FL he didn't care much abt what people thought of him, that's why he never bothered to change the narrative & did what he deemed fit (that's why somehow he's a morally gray character) And even after he fell for FL he only ever did things FOR her only. Yes his love for her is touching and also how he cares deeply for her, but to others he's uncouth...and the measures he takes to survive, at that time would obviously not sit well with people living in that era, thereby making him scum. He's actually a very nice person, but in other to do really good deeds he has to take measures that aren't suitable (as per that era), like an example is him taking bribes to help the village school. and he did that to win GC's favour. And it seems like you think im comparing his flaws with fl's, so you're linking my statement to her, and that's not what this is abt. I simply explained the Male Lead's Perceived Reputation by both viewers & characters.

@LionOfSk Well they don't know that he's being lenient, so he's scum to them, even his assistant questioned him...I don't even think he's scum but he has always referred to himself as that, remember when he had an illusion of GC...he said that there check it out.
The more I think about it I really don’t get how there’s so many people blaming on fl and saying she doesn’t…
Honestly when I saw that she was gonna leave her ill father, little brother & sister to flee with a man that she knows nothing abt, it didn't seat well with my conscience. And at the same time I still somehow would've loved them to flee. If we're to blame anyone it's delulu Rwang eum cuz he could've told the truth before Gil Chae was engaged but he didn't. But then again you can't really blame the delusional.
