The pacing feels so....weird, especially with the time skips. A year passed since Name started speaking again but no one in the friend group except Em heard Name talk until that point? On top of that, Champ's relationship with his family is still bitter as ever as if no time had passed at all. Nan's reunion with Chompu felt very underwhelming as well. It just seems like they try to jam so much into a 40 minute episode and it really doesn't feel great to watch. Maybe if the episodes were like an hour long it could work better? I'm not sure. Don't even get me started on the horrendous wigs. They're trolling us at this point lol
Been wanting to watch this drama for quite some time, but supposedly it has a love triangle. If so, how bad is…
It's very minor. It's a small and important part of the story that has to do with the overall narrative, but it's not the main focus at all. Hope this helps :)
I could see why people would dislike episode 8 as it is a bit angsty and frustrating, but I enjoyed it. Bai Lang went way too far with pushing Xun An away at the end of the last episode, and Xun An was right to not accept Bai Lang right away and instead make him work for it.
I really want to take a moment to appreciate that long continuous shot on the street, spanning across a few blocks. That was beautiful and wonderfully done. I've noticed that they're being a bit more ambitious with the cinematography in MTYL in comparison to what you usually see in BLs, and I love it. It's very innovative.
I love that they talked about going to therapy as a main option here! So many romances try to replace therapy…
I was thinking this exact same thing. I've seen a bunch of BLs and not a single one has even mentioned the idea of therapy when someone can clearly benefit from it.
this show is so so good. the fact that it can be ridiculously funny one moment then serious and emotional the next, all the while balancing it well is crazy to me. I love it. I'm sad there's only 2 more episodes though
Although the time it took to get to the time skip was a bit *too* long, it definitely picked up a lot in the last 2-3 episodes and next week's preview has me really excited to see both cake and seeiw's transformations. This week's episode pulled on my heart strings and I shed a few tears. The acting is phenomenal. I felt very in touch with the emotions going on.
wow. I liked ep 1 but episode 2 blew everything out of the damn water. the emotion, the suspense, the realism. I felt so in touch with Do Hae Yi and what she was feeling. This show is a gem so far, hopefully follow up episodes don't disappoint.
This was a fun watch I’d say, but not much more than that. JimmySea’s chemistry was fantastic and of course it was great to see OhmNanon again. I think the universal traveling plot was very weak though and the finale was underwhelming. They could’ve done a lot more with it.
I completed it all in one go. I liked it even though it's probably one of the simplest BLs I've watched so far. By that I mean that it doesn't have a lot of stakes which could be boring for some people, but I've been watching so many BLs with high stakes and stress so it was nice to kick back and watch this lol. It's very comforting and I really loved the relationship between Hae Bom and Tae Sung. It's short but sweet. Lots of fluff.
Episodes 11 + 12 were really good and cute and I liked how it ended. I wanted more of that though as it felt rushed. I think they should've not wasted so much time on the love triangle and expanded on the conflict of being in a long-distance relationship for a bit. I would've loved to see Ji Yul's grandfather and grandmother make an appearance too since they were the catalyst for the story in the first place. Overall, the series was okay. It had the potential to be way better though.
This show overall feels more like an experience than an actual show. I feel captivated by everything and the dialogue + revelation this episode with In was...wow. I feel like I'm right there with them seeing it happen in real time. I'm very curious to see how it ends with only 2 more episodes!
I was pleasantly surprised by this show. I saw a lot of people in the comments say negative things so I didn't want to give it a shot at first but decided to do so anyways. This show as a whole was beautiful. The OST, the acting, the atmosphere, the life lessons. I loved every single story (some more than others but I didn't dislike any of them) and it was wrapped up beautifully in the end. Def recommend this one.
Episode 6 was seriously GOOD. This series is honestly top tier among the BLs I’ve watched, with every episode getting better and better. The plot twist this episode with Akk, the OST, the chemistry, the smooch at the end. Chef’s kiss forreal. The wait between episode 5 and 6 felt like YEARS but it was worth. Now time to put my clown nose back on and wait another millennia for episode 7 lol :(
I feel like the acting isn't the issue like some people are saying but rather it's the plot. It isn't peaking my interest right now...it needs some kind of twist or spice to reel me in. Actors can only do so much when the writing just isn't there. I don't really feel myself rooting for either ML right now. Ji Yul and Ja Young barely know each other and haven't had enough moments together for him to really like her all that much...their story just isn't developed. Sang Hyun on the other hand...he had so many years to speak up and admit his feelings but he chose not to until Ja Young even took a single look at another man. Like come on.
I suppose I'll keep watching the episodes and hope it improves. It really does have a lot of potential. but they could also just drop the ball completely. idk. we'll see I guess
Also the people in this town frustrate me so much LOL idk how they expect Ji Yul to find comfort with them when they judge him for every single little thing he does including his choice not to eat meat.
