Oh! I’m beyond thrilled to see her getting this role and the fact that this is an OCN project is quite comforting too considering the network is actually a favorite like I know they could deliver a good output. Haha
New OST teaser ~[Teaser] Kim Feel(김필) - Hallelujah(나도 모르는 노래)https://youtu.be/Vq5hfAR1xHE
I swear the OSTs for this series are literal perfection. Not one feels out of place while watching the scene which is great because some series tend to have great OSTs too but when combined with a particular scene, it just doesn’t feel right.
[The production team shared, “The actors’ passionate acting stood out on set as they perfectly immersed themselves into each of their characters despite it being the first script reading. A high quality project with the trifecta of a lively and well-structured story, sharp directing, and realistic acting from actors who have each added their own presence will visit the viewers soon.”]
Quite a nice article if anyone of you want to learn more about the characters.
Imo, she is quite a decent actress. I’ve seen about four (well 5 if I include one that I dropped) of her works. Objectively speaking, 3/5 were meh for different reasons but was not really because of her.
1. High Kick was the first show I watched from her. Considering her age during this time, she was able to execute the role of an annoying and playful sister.
2. The Heirs was a series I actually fast forwarded a lot because of the series’ overall superficiality and PSH’s bland acting but I find myself enjoying Krystal’s characterization of Lee Bona who is childish and spoiled but actually has a kind heart. Her fashion sense was also a plus. Lol.
3. My Lovely Girl was a series of her that I dropped even though she starred as the lead there because of various reasons — the storyline was bad and she literally has no chemistry with the lead guy. And again, bad storyline. Ugh! I mean, who falls in love with the younger sister of your dead girlfriend? That’s sick! But I did watch her cut scenes with Kim Myungsoo on youtube. They were cute together. Other than that, I don’t really have anything much to say about this series as I literally dropped this after 2 episodes.
4. Bride of the Water God is such a poor series adaptation of a manga with the same title — sadly it didn’t hold up to former’s popularity as the lead couple’s storyline is so-so and I can’t stand how weak they depicted the female lead’s character. Krystal’s Moora and Gong Myung’s Biryeom were actually the only good thing in the series as both were able to deliver their roles well. Krystal in this one acted as the bitchy goddess but she was really pleasing to watch despite the role. Not a good series but at least, she was able to redeem herself from the bad project that is MLG.
5. Last, but definitely not the least is the The Player. I think that this was a series that really established Krystal for me as an actress. I have always been a fan of her even before seeing her act but she was able to shine as an actress to me in this. Without becoming overshadowed by her fellow actors, she was able to deliver the role of Ah Ryung as the dependable youngest team player of the quartet. The rapport in this series was so great that I can literally breathe it as an audience (lol) plus I’m a sucker for this kind of series so a win.
I think she was able to choose better scripts now than before. I haven’t watched Prison Playbook yet but I have seen her cut scenes from 2 episodes and she was actually good as she played the supporting role of Oh Jiho. Of course, I would still have to watch the whole series to say anything, especially her acting on this one (I didn’t want to watch all her cut scenes as I might spoil myself about the series and I don’t want that to happen as I’m planning to watch it later).
So yeah, she hasn’t really done a lot of lead roles yet (she only has one and the others are 1. really just ‘lead-but-not-really-lead’ roles or multi-lead roles kind of series or 2. yet to be released as her projects from China are yet to see the light of the day due to the hallyu ban so can’t really judge yet) but I find her acting quite engaging based on the series I’ve watched from her tbh. Still not the best, but I see her growing and she has the eye for improvement as she doesn’t shy away from scripts that aren’t really her forte. I think what’s good about her now is she chooses scripts that can widen her acting range even if she isn’t casted as the lead role. I think she is the type to seek versatility rather than to be typecasted. Example, one of the movies she recently shot is a role wherein she has to play a pregnant teenager. Another one, she played a getaway driver in The Player while on this one, she will become a military officer. So yeah, I think that she has a lot of potential given her tenacity to challenge herself with various roles.
To sum up, The Search may be her ‘make it or break it’ project in terms of getting herself star more in lead roles in the future. This would be her test as an actress considering this is “technically” her second lead series.
Happy campers only!!! ahahah! Enjoy the fun while it lasts!!!
It’s like at the end of this series, we are actually gonna be the ones to use the camping car written on MST’s contract instead of them, as we move to another comment section. Lol.
goodness im like the last to see every new episode out =( it's barely Thursday still over here hmmmphhhh :*(
Wow thanks for the support too even though I haven’t really been active. It’s nice to feel like I haven’t been inactive for long when I see you, Shreya, Rjei27 (even Maytenny’s name), and literally a lot more. I literally am familiar with your names as you guys are so active. Haha

I feel sad knowing we’ll prolly move on (gradually perhaps) and we won’t be able to find a comment section as fun as this — with campers never leaving the thread inactive. Lol hahaha
lol, I may have screwed that up for you as I was commenting on older posts I didn't get to yet. This was happening…
I was actually lucky a while ago and I got here when it’s like 7,772 comments or so. I thought I got it but Miro is such a fast and sneaky camper. Hahahahahahahaha. I was actually the 7,778th. I was so close. Hahahaha
