"Literally a ZERO similarity between the two". Are you sure about that? The fact that both are love stories between a doctor and police/soldier is already a similarity considering the rarity of compatibility. There are also scenes which are similar like the earthquake, those schedule conflicts like cancelled meals and the Middle East Respiratory 'thingy'. It may not be a remake or what but those similarities contributed to my reasons of comparing them.

I think it's both a prequel and a spin off. Prequel because the time setting was definitely earlier than GGS1. And a spin off because the story feels like in a different universe as the 1st one
