Ep7. Looks like MNet is listening to its critics. Bringing a qualified judge such as Rain for the Domestic Choreo is a good move. Here we get to hear details why a certain choreo works as well as constructive criticism how to improve. Good job MNet producers! The crew teams are doing great. Really don't know who to cheer for but I have grown fond of all the crew leaders. May the best team win. They all bring something to the table.
This drama is really really good! It is very well done, character driven plot. The acting is tip top. I can't remember who recommended this to me but thank you. Namkoong Min and Park Eun Bin can select very good projects. If anyone is thinking of watching this, do yourself a favour...I can at ep 8 and I started less than 24 hours ago!
Can someone please explain the Red Flower plot? I don’t understand what the nun was up to.
The Red Flower Society is a secret society aiming to overthrow the Manchu-led Qing Empire and restore Han Chinese rule in China. So Emperor Qianlong wanted to wipe them (and any powerul martial artist) out. Thus he set up a Leader Competition to trap them and wipe them out (using guns). The society knew of this plan and planted the nun near Commander Fu (the man who thought of the idea of the competition). My understanding. But do correct me if I am mistaken about the plot.
Thank you for a good run. Enjoyed most parts of it especially when there is a figthing scene. The action is really good. The actors are pretty good too. Costumes are beautiful. Interesting adaptation of a well-loved novel. Not always to point but bearable and worthwhile to watch just for the fighting scenes. Rating it an 8.1
🤔 was kinda tolerating the show as I had nothing to watch and I love mystery detective ancient Chinese dramas.…
ChumChum, Sorry, are we watching the same show? I am confused with your POV and 'arguments'. You say you love mystery detective genre and imply you don't tolerate romance. Then you say you fastforward till a FL appears. If you dislike romance, then why fast forward till she appears. I would fastforward when she appears if I don't like romance. It is no way a romance drama. There is a tinge of romance. The analogy is like this" a tinge of butter in a pancake recipe does not make it a Butter Pancake". It is definately a crime mystery like Shelock Holmes & Dr Watson. The 2 ML, the cases, the antagonists are the main point. The rest support the plot. Which age gap are you refering to? ML with ML or 2nd ML with FL? The heterogeneous pair look compatible in age proabably a difference of 4-5 years. Even if in the story, they have an age gap between a fully grown man (i assume he is still quite young 20s as he is unmarried) and an unmarried girl of 16-17, that is still acceptable in the setting of the story (at the time of Tang dynasty). But it is ok. It is not everyone's cup of tea. No drama is. No offence meant.
After watching Ep 6, I started searching for Kinjaz choreographies....they took part in NBC World of Dance Season 1. There is this fantastic use of screens. It is amazing! Check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQE-hyQvWBU
One case after another....storylines are keeping fresh and interesting. Most of the antoganist suffer from narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) with god complex. The team of protoganist are interesting, funny, lovable and growing with each episode...yes the romance and bromance is slow burn and take a secondary stage to the cases. Read somewhere that the main actor (playing Su Wu Ming) is also the man behind the show (producer/director/something). I will watch his shows if they are anything like this production. If anyone still hesitating to watch this, please watch. I like it as much as Extraordinary Attorney Woo (though they are so different). These 2 shows are my muse in 2022.
Ep 6. Happy to see a new guest judge who can balance the 'judging' of the 3 pop dancers (sorry much as I love Super junior & 2 pm) come on. Still feeling a little sore watching PrimeKingz exit . Do bear in mind that the show is called, 'Street'. Thus you have to have qualified judges for street dancing. I applaud MNet for fixing their error. The Megacrew segment is fantastic esp JustJerk. I only have 3 words to say about their choreo and performance, 'WOW, WOW, WOW'. It is world class. If you are still debating whether to watch this season, just do it. It has a lot of teething problems but it is the most interesting show for this season.
Let me know how this ends and who dies at the end... Chinese Fantasy dramas/movies have an annoying habit of killing…
It is not fantasy. It is more crime investigation. A lot of the paranormal cases has logical explanation such as hallucination. The antagonists so far are driven by greed, show sociopathy , psychopathy tendencies, etc. if you are looking for fantasy, this is not for you. Think Criminal Minds in Tang dynasty setting. The protoganists are like Sherlock Holmes & Dr Watson.
Trying this out as a filler drama... Some solid actors (Im Joo Hwan, Jang Mi Hee and Lee Ha Na), a light family drama (to neutralize all the dark crime shows I am watching) .... Not so good -annoying side characters,a little too much caricature-like characters. I will try it out for 7 episodes and decide whether worth watching or not.
Ya, enjoying this surprise.....real actors (not traffic actors i think as I don't remember seeing them before), witty smart characters, the irony of the story, interesting plot...do check it out if you have not. It is good. Loving the sheriff character and the doctor character.
In the previews after Ep 18, there is a line (from the Jin husband/Choi brother?):"Jin Bu-yeon's immense divine…
My theory is that she is the original blind Jin leader who could control the ice stone. I think the guy (founder of Songrim and the greatest mage) was supposed to rid Daeho of all the Icestones (because its power is corrupt) but he could not do so because of his love for his lover (blind Jin leader) who was dying. She probably died because she controlled the icestone. (There is a extreme heavy price for the use of the Icestone. It is in the poem. Also Bu yeon mentioned it to Naksu/Mudeok. You ask for rain but you will get a flood. ) In order to save the Blind lady, her soul was trapped in that one last Icestone and was kept in the Jin's artifact room. Buyeon's mum (successor to Original Jin leader) knew of this secret (that founder of Songrim didn't destroy that one stone. And it was kept in the Jin's artifact room). Jang Gang (Jang Uk's dad as successor also knew this secret) and was blackmailed by Buyeon's mum to save Buyeon as a unborn baby. Using the icestone, he resurrected Buyeon with the soul of the original blind Jin leader. That would explain Buyeon's power. That is my theory so far. We will find out soon enough.
Ep 17 confirmed that there should be a dead body so the ice stone can works. If there’s no dead body, it’s…
Yep, the thought keeps bugging me...how to reconcile the fact that Naksu's body has been cremated and how to bring her back to life in Season 2. I think the writers has been toying with the idea of Season 2 with the same FL actress but because she left her agency, she was scrapped from the show. Perhaps that is why the writers and production had to take 1 week off to reconcile this problem and reshoot some scenes with the new FL actress or rewrite some parts to explain why the FL has a new body! That is my theory.
This is a good one!if Master Lee is really the soul shifter, how did both Heom and Park Jin recognized him at…
Possible as he is very very old ( Double Centenarian). He could have swap the body during the time when Heom and Park Jin were about to be bornt. But likely he is bluffing.
Watching both MDL and EAW. Loving both. MDL is on cable TV so the ratings of 6-7% is pretty decent. MDL is fun…
No, you are not antogonastic at all. You explain your views well. The funny thing though (but real) is we can watch the same scenes but 'see' differently- our perception differs. The romance in both series didn't impact me that much. But it seems to be a subject of debate among many here. The romance was fun but not the main thing. AOS is delightful in its story of how a man born on the wrong tracks of life (irony -he is the king's son) destined for great things, against the odds , come of age to fulfill his destiny. To me, it was more his story than Naksu. Naksu was the catalyst. Then, EAW is more about a woman who overcame obstacles because of her oddity (autism) to become an extraordinary attorney. Her cases dealt with interesting issues (Should children be left to play instead of studying? Do handicapped people have the right to love?). I love both. One was fun as I loved sci-fi and fantasy. The other thought provoking. Loving one doesn't mean loving the other less. Or i wouldn't be spending so much time in this forum.
