Yes. It irritated me as well. I was frustrated with her not doing or saying ANYTHING to defy those bullies.
I have a hard time believing that "Oh that's sad, but you COULD have done something." is supposed to be empowering. It IS borderline victim blaming for one of your first reactions to be "Oh, but it wouldn't have been as bad, or they would have stopped, if YOU had done something.". That IS basically saying that she is partly at fault for the things that happened to her, because she COULD have made them stop - Which IS victim blaming.

I understand that you do not think that she is at fault, u said urself that the bullies are at fault. But no matter your true opinion, the way you've expressed yourself is saying the opposite.

And saying "Of course she is afraid and some people have a harder time with confrontation" doesn't cut it either when you then proceed to undermine that fact. Everyone is different and she very well could have been incapable of standing up for herself. Everyone reacts differently and have different mentalities.

Do you truly think that bullying victims actively CHOOSE to stay quiet and endure hell when they just "could have done something and it might have stopped"? It's not that simple.

Dude u (and OP) really need to sort out ur perspective on bullying... It's like borderline victim blaming basically saying "she could and should have done something about it". Sigh.

"What she did at the time was very inconsiderate of her. "It wasn't inconsiderate it was calculated and vindictive,…
I know this is from 2 years ago but I can't help myself. Typing this down is mostly for the sake of my triggered self but I'd appreciate it if you spared it a few seconds.

I hope, if you ever look back at this conversation, that you reflect upon your own words. You are clearly a fan of hers, or at least was, and I can understand the protectiveness and admiration that you have/had for her. However, even as a fan, you shouldn't be excusing another persons shitty behavior. Supporting and excusing are two completely different things.

Your opinion is, of course, always valid but you shouldn't express it in a way that brings someone else down. Unintentionally or not, you are excusing GHS's behavior (which is a problem in itself, but that's another matter) and you are doing it in a way that shifts the blame upon AJH, which is not okay whatsoever. Victim blaming is never cool. If you can't see it yourself, I could bring you a list of your own words that proves this (but this was 2 years ago and I don't wanna do the work when there's a fat chance you might not even see this. Just let me know lol). Anyway, maybe it wasn't your intention to victim blame, maybe you were simply trying to protect your idol or express your opinion, but nevertheless, you still did victim blame, and that's not cool.

Side note, I also hope that you reflect upon the way that you are arguing. You aren't being aggressive or using foul word, no, but OH! the double standards. Forgive me for being too forward but bro, reading the comments, I really don't understand how ForeverFanatic was able to keep their cool.
.... Accusing ForeverFanatic for meddling in Gu Hye Seon and Ahn Jae Hyun's business as a 3rd party.... while meddling in their business just as much, and also being the one who brought it up to begin with...?
.... Then accusing them of being "one of the reasons" why celebrities kill themselves... while acting in the exact, if not worse, way towards Ahn Jae Hyun...? Thus being "one of the reasons" yourself, but towards the other party.
Maybe I'm just nitpicking here, your attitude has nothing to do with the original matter. It just really really bothered me because double standars, especially in these kinds of situations, are extremely toxic (and irritating lol)

Nevertheless, I truly wish you both well :) Despite differing opinions regarding this matter as well as our way of communicating them... At the end of the day, we all just want what's best for the people we admire and love and that is just really admirable in itself.

I don't mind sad endings but dramas that are just all tension/sadness all the time with no reprieve aren't for…
I totally agree. I find that sad endings are acceptable if the majority of the drama isn't too angsty. Sometimes happy endings just aren't good enough, if you know what i mean. It just doesn't make me feel satisfied, it feels meaningless. Idk how to put it into words. The Red Sleeve has stayed with me for quite awhile, but I've pretty much forgotten 1/2 of the dramas with happy endings that I've watched. Don't get me wrong, I truly did hate the ending of The Red Sleeve (well, that last scene made me feel a little better), but at the same time it made the drama much more memorable and just better. But i also hated it. I'm very conflicted.

On another note, I didn't necessarily like the ending of Korean Odyssey either, but hope wasn't completely washed down the drain and that was enough for me not to dig myself into a hole of self pity lol

Aw, that's too bad. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what I feel like. It's Jung He In so I'm bound to watch it someday either way lol

I saw a lot of comments saying that, apparently, a lot of romantic scenes have been cut. So, for a person that prefers romantic kdramas, is snowdrop still worth the watch?

Quite confused with people dropping the drama because they got the ending spoiled, like in most political conflict…
(A slight spoiler of the ending of Korean Odyssey at the bottom)

For me, it's just that romance kdramas tend to wait until the very last second for the main leads to actually get together. So if one or both of the leads die before or right after they finally get together... I just can't handle the sadness. I get too emotionally invested and I don't feel like walking around being all sad about something fictional (been there done that lol.) I don't think I'm alone with not necessarily needing a happy ending, just as long as it's not cry worthy sad.

(Spoiler ahead) The ending of Korean Odyssey is a perfect example. It's not necessarily happy but not sad either. It has an open ending.

No worries, I usually spoil myself all the time when searching if a drama has a happy or sad ending hehe
