Coming from a fluffy and light romance watcher this is a stressful drama for me lol I can barely finish watching this one. I cant remember when's the last time ive watched a drama or melodrama genre and I dont like watching cheating people so thats a 2 no-no for me but theres an appeal in this drama that I cant drop watching it.
This is too painful too watch, not because of the melodrama genre or the toxic relarionship they have, but because the plot is chaotic. The cover looks like its okay not to be okay so they shouldve just copied the whole thing. The story started out like a flashback- how the main lead get together ep.1-8. Why flashback? Because you can just fast forward to ep. 8 and still understand the story. Im not sure either because i skipped most of the part, only important thing I got is the female lead background on her mental illness. Middle part of the drama is partly good and mostly chaotic. TBH they shouldve focus on the mental illness of the female lead and the male lead's family problems that have cause his childish personality but instead the script throw all the antagonist and obstacles they can think of. There's also this cellphone thief which is useless on the plot and the gangster guy turn paparazzi. Like wtf have they done? Nothing, right? IMO its okay to throw all obstacles as long as there is character develpment. Obstacles in this drama just helped with kissing and bed scene development. The acting is quite alright, I just can't continue to watch bec. of the story and drop at ep17. Honestly the plot have a lot of potential, and some unique persona is intesting. I don't know why would someone reviewed this as "best cdrama of 2021" and rated 10/10, try watching my fated boy, yamg, love scenery, my little happiness and so on ... they have their own cons but the plot is at least well made.
This is the perfect example of "do not judge the drama by its cover" lmao. I did not join the hype earlier bec. I thought this is a bad drama, looking at the poster my first impression was wow this drama looks cheap and the photo looks like edited by an amateur but no haha I started watching this bec. my friend said this is a great romcom. I did not even read the synopsis nor watch the trailer and started watching this, and to my surprise it is a good drama and too funny! I haven't had a good laugh for a while after watching welcome to waikiki thats my fav. comedy kdrama! If you're having doubts about watching this because you thought, " Ah gumiho again, isn't that a recycled theme" or "the cover looks cheap", stop your doubts and start watching this now!
I don't get why this drama gets hated so much, I have no idea about the webtoon so I can only judge based on what i watched. Honestly, this is just an average drama, the cinematography is good, the acting is nice and the plot is okay but it did not deserve so much hate comment here and it kept me watching until the end. For those people who whine about the FL picking the bad guy, guess what, that's the reality for most of the people and I think that's what the message at the very start of the drama, the reality of most relationships. But hey I respect everyone's opinion I just don't get the hate when this was very hype at early episodes.
Kim Yoo Shin is that one classmate you had in school thats very extroverted,noisy and very annoying sometimes. You want to avoid him/her but ends up being your friend because they're too nice lol
