another thing i've often seen with popular wuxia/xianxia dramas is lots of confusion amongst fans. but they've done a really good job of making the plot easier to understand while retaining rich details

this show is very well rounded. the story is rich with details and suspense, keeping us hooked into both the Wu Xia world as well as the Empire world. not only is the story amazing (i know it's based on an older novel), but the production itself is great. the cast is abundant with both talent and good looks! not a single flaw. one issue i've found with many costume dramas is that the story will be complicated and interesting, yet the production feels cheap/tacky. but this drama is great. they do a great job. i guess the stunts for some of the fighting needs work but luckily those kinds of scenes aren't frequent. yang yang and zhao lusi have done amazing jobs.

i liked this show originally but now they've done too much. chunhui making her daughter falsely accuse another CHILD of molesting kids??? JESUS. this show is taking a turn for the worst. also the whole jinha thing doesn't make any sense. but it is still entertaining cuz i obviously want to see how it ends. i hope we get clarification on louis and eunpyo like why things ended for them like that too cuz even though louis obviously has issues they had a cute relationship in france

i like it too it's just too predictable for me and at least if it's predictable i'd prefer it to be like fighting element stuff idk ig i just find that more entertaining

i hope they start slowing going back to be a full on wuxia and not so political

not sure why people are complaining about the length. it's supposed to be a short slice of life so people can just see a simple well casted/well produced drama cuz the plots pretty basic i just think it's being made to show how well done the drama's supposed to be

hyungsik and sohee look great together and theyre both amazing actors individually but i do not think the casting for this show was done great. initially i was excited because of the cast, but now i'm wishing they had chosen other people. make not so much hyungsik, but i don't think sohee suits this role that much !! i think she's better for more mature dramas (not saying as in inappropriate. just like stuff like nevertheless/my name) she feels somewhat awkward in this drama although it's supposed to have a familiar feel since its childhood friends to lovers

hi!! i completely agree with this post i feel like there's not enough constructive criticism of the cdrama world and this post really sums it up well. although i do love second lead tropes cuz it enduces enhanced emotions for viewers bc we get attached and feel both happy and sad for the character

but i think that's intentional. in all the live action adaptions the ml always kinda has that feel; that naturally bothersome but also attractive one. same can be said abt the fl although i think in this adaption the fl actually has a brain but i tihink the fl in this series has always been somewhat naive to the point where it annoys the watchers
