started this and its rlly frickin cute without a lot of the AWFUL lakorn specific abusive shit u see and im loving…
ep 9 ML is teaching FL how to be a housewife without her knowledge or consent and its rlly pissing me off like why should she have to be taught that...ESP without knowledge/consent but id be pissed at the screenwriters even if she did consent bc its just so sexist LOL like this girl got accepted to Princeton she should be getting her degree and prioritizing her career but we just love to throw women into homemaking and childrearing as their true calling instead, and it'll be framed as romantic....I just rlly hate it when men act so entitled and heavy-handed. that being said...I was thinking "how are u gonna go from barely knowing her to proposing to her" but I rlly like what the ML said - "it's not a big deal [lookin sad as hell still] I trust what my eyes see and my heart feels, but there are some things I have to know first"
started this and its rlly frickin cute without a lot of the AWFUL lakorn specific abusive shit u see and im loving it so far and I have so many newfound feelings for Nadech but god I gotta say this one thing is rubbing me so the wrong way (and its legit so minor compared to most of the stuff u see in lakorns)
I don’t blame the reviewers but the writers for creating female characters like that. Also, liking or not liking…
What ur saying is fair (people are entitled to their own opinions and liking a character is subjective) but there IS a pattern of holding female protagonists to impossibly high standards especially compared to male counterparts, and it is rooted in the inherent and fundamental misogyny that is part of life.
People shit on FLs more vehemently, more easily, more consistently and that is in part because female protagonists are often worse written (which is also rooted in sexism), but it is also because of how we as a society treat women and how much we expect from them - it’s not only in dramas that our collective response is much harsher on female protagonists, female celebrities get bashed much worse for doing much less, as well as again all women in general LOL
TLDR; female protagonists are often written badly/ worse than male counterpart, but reviewers/ society ALSO judges and criticizes women and female characters more harshly even if the script is well written (which is different from if you personally like it)
incredible drama to depths I cant even articulate but another one where the romance dipped and never fully recovered which is so gutting. this made me feel so many things only for the last thing to be 'slightly disappointed'
They don't get married by the end of the series. Just a promise to get married.
Gahhhh whatttt … ok it’s fine I’m gna just find out by watching. I guess the promise is enough…would’ve loved to see married life tho. Thanks!
Actually one other thing … I’m lowkey already forgetting but I think I liked the FL and also empathized with…
ACTUALLY one other thing AGAIN because the viki comments rlly pissed me off and I just remembered - people were so quick and vehement in judging the FL. this in itself isn’t unique to this show, but I was actually really shocked at how callous people were about her mom being sick. Like, she is her moms only daughter, they seem to have no other relatives nearby, only her friend and her friends parents. FL wasn’t even trying to spend every waking moment with her mom, just make sure she had her meals on time and had some company. The things people were saying about her - Jesus Christ. Also, the complete lack of regard for her trauma that would obviously shape the way she reacts to things, a trauma she hasn’t fully processed and one that she has constant dejavu with. I was genuinely upset by this, like the lack of empathy rlly sucked to see
I didn’t finish the last episode, but honestly all in all a cute and enjoyable drama. Two notes though 1) I…
Actually one other thing … I’m lowkey already forgetting but I think I liked the FL and also empathized with her behaviour HOWEVER this drama rlly did remind me of that infuriating trend in dramas where otherwise great FLs will be written to go mute at key moments, or do things or find themselves in situations contrary to their character!!!! (I watched a drama right after this that amplified this af too)
and of course, with c-dramas specifically, they always fall apart in the last few eps. You just gotta learn to ~rewrite in ur head~ or ~withdraw interest~ That’s why I didn’t finish the last ep (not through rage quitting but just losing interest. I’d been skipping more and more near the end) but can still say I liked the drama
I didn’t finish the last episode, but honestly all in all a cute and enjoyable drama. Two notes though 1) I had to rely on viki for subs… 2) I kept getting distracted by the ML because he looks like a celebrity mashup of Lee Jae Wook and … Benedict Cumberbatch LMFAO
I read somewhere in the comments here that FL gets slandered for plagiarism and then for the rest of the show…
I’m on so 18 (did not sleep) and honestly …I kinda love it LOL it’s a lakorn, and there are def issues, but I’ve been having a good time. You have to kinda just ignore FL’s career. There is proof around her being innocent but … I can’t explain it u have to turn ur brain off for a lot of things but ultimately the FL doesn’t really stand for people talking shit and I rlly like her (sometimes despite the script)
I watched fox in the summer a few years ago and I remember none of it other than dropping it and not liking the actor for ML
