I haven't completed it yet, only 3 eps left. I'd say continue watching it because the story's really good. You can also try to watch until episode 5 before you decide. There will be a lot of investigation scenes. On the later eps tho, the police will be less involved but investigation by the main leads will continue.

I am really saddened to hear this. He was a part of my childhood. I literally grew up watching Jdoramas and I absolutely adored him in Koizora and Bloody Monday. I put Boku no Ita Jikan on hold for a while now because it gives me a heavy feeling. I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to resume anytime soon... Rest in peace, angel. You've worked hard.
