I read a post saying that the screenwriter who wrote the first half of the drama complained about the trainwreck…
Bravo to the original screenwriter for his integrity (name?). IMO the second half *is* a bit of a train wreck. I don't have a problem with tropes per se, it depends on how skillfully the screenwriter weaves them into the story. In this drama, not that well. Also many instances where the ML magically finds the FL (did he put an AirTag on her 😂) and saves her just in the nick of time. Also many plot holes and inconsistencies.
There's only one screenwriter listed in MDL, Su Ni, probably the replacement. She only has two dramas listed. So maybe somewhat inexperienced? Her other drama (in which she was co-screenwriter) is Wrong Carriage, Right Groom that also didn't rate that well on MDL - 7.8 from 4,300 raters
I honestly do not understand the obsession with MDL ratings, since like all open ratings, they are subjective…
MDL is one of the several sources I use to decide which dramas to watch since China produces hundreds and hundreds of dramas each year. I know the ratings can be subject to manipulation, including from haters (as are Douban ratings) but with a sufficient number of raters that would be less of an issue, e.g. Nivana in Fire IMO has a well-deserved 9.1 from 12,000 raters. After completing TPG though, I have to agree with some of the criticism about the screenwriter (like she received a kit of C-drama tropes and tried to use as many as possible, LOL). The fine cast deserved a better script. The challenge with recent or just-aired dramas is the small number of raters
I personally like MZY, and the show became less interesting for me since she stopped appearing. One of the highlights…
Meng Zi Yi in an interview recently promoting her current drama said she's quite busy these days. So much so that she would often get sick and that it's almost more than she can handle. https://youtu.be/MD_hbDbl3QA?t=300
Maybe she'll be back for the Special Season. She was in last year's, Ep 3-5.
Just out of curiosity, does this series make you want to go to sleep when/after you watch it? All the energy that…
LOL. The show *is* called Keep Running. Just don't watch it before bedtime 😂
Not sure there is a ZJTV Ep 13, KR is typically 12 episodes. The last program air date listed on MDL is 7/18/25 or tomorrow. Last week's 3 guests are listed as Ep 11, which agrees with ZJTV's episode number.
There are also "Special Seasons" in the latter part of the year that focuses on a specific topic with fewer episodes. Last year's was KR: The Ancient Tea-Horse Road with 8 episodes.
MDL rating now slips to 7.9 (?). I'm only up to Ep 20 but the ending must not be that popular - at least with MDL users. According to vLinkage though, it's the top web drama in China for the second consecutive week. https://youtu.be/XbCcmhodUb0?t=666
For whatever reason Liu Xue Yi's recent dramas don't seem to rate that well on MDL. His last 7 dramas in which he was the main lead: 7.9, 7.7, 8.1, 7.9, 7.4, 8.0, 7.8
It's a relief that Guo Ai Lun, the CBA and national basketball player, didn't reinjure his eye in the rough play during the name-tag ripping segment. His eye was injured in February during a practice requiring surgery for which he is still undergoing rehabilitation. It would've been quite the headline. Playing in the CBA, he's no stranger to rough play. Jeremy Lin played in the CBA for 2 years and was the most fouled player often getting injured as a result.
The phrase "brash young man" comes to mind when Fan Cheng Cheng ignored Bai Lu and Li Chen costing his team a chance to win. Their team would've had the most ducks. Instead the green team had 8 times as many. He probably thought he was smarter and wanted to be a hero. Knowing it looked bad, especially after Li Chen (fake) kicked him, and Bai Lu criticized him he took the black ink for Bai Lu (for which he cheated to see which gun had the ink). Hopefully as he matures he will learn the meaning of being a team player (including not abandoning his teammates, e.g. Sha Yi, Zhang Ruo Nan). Something Guo Ai Lun knows a lot about
Meng Zi Yi in an interview said she's quite busy these days. So much so that she would often get sick. And says it's almost more than she can handle. Although it's great that she's in demand I hope her management company pays attention to her health and doesn't overwork her. https://youtu.be/MD_hbDbl3QA?t=300 [captions are available]
So you opened a MDL account today just so you can go on Meng Zi Yi's page and say something negative about her???…
Ok, got it. Your user name is "Lulu" and you think she's *the best* actress in China - but you're not a fan, which in its simplest form means you admire the person, e.g. for her acting, character, etc. Maybe you should get a better dictionary.
Of course you're free to post whatever you want publicly as long as it's not abusive. And others are free to reply
The Princess's Gambit is the #1 Web drama for the week (!) per Vlinkage, a marketing consulting company based in Shanghai. https://youtu.be/LH6tEoMzV5E?t=699
Feud was # 1 the week before but it finished airing about 2 weeks ago
So you opened a MDL account today just so you can go on Meng Zi Yi's page and say something negative about her???…
You're assuming since I don't have a drama on my profile that I haven't watched them. I use MDL primarily for information on dramas and casts.
I've watched almost *all* of Bai Lu's dramas and Meg Zi Yi's dramas along with the variety show's they're in, among countless other drama's over the years. So I do know something about them.
Apparently you're a Bai Lu fan but you're not doing her any favors by disparaging other stars
don't bring unnecessary hate for Bailu, stop going to other artist page to leave negative comments you are harming…
Yes, I noticed she just opened her account today and left a negative comment on another popular actress's MDL page. Another user, "S L", who apparently is a Zhao Li Ying fan does the same thing
So you opened a MDL account today just so you can go on Meng Zi Yi's page and say something negative about her??? And to rate Bai Lu's and Luo Yun Xi's TTEOTM, that aired in April-May 2023, or more than 2 years ago, a 10?
Looks like ZJTV is turning around the subs more quickly than before. Now if they would only translate the written notes (e.g. "edible black vegetable food coloring") and important clues.
Is it we have to wait for Eng subs from the official channels, no one does fan subs?
It would be great if ZJTV added translations to the written clues and text, e.g. in brackets [...], like the streamers do. This would help viewers who don't read Chinese follow along better.

She received 6,207 flowers in just one week 😊
This took much less time than I thought it would 👍
