Liu put Yao up for trade to Jing in exchange of sending provisions to army. And Jing for his grandma and the grandma set up and chose to marry. Liu was regretful and the way he expressed afterwards was telling. Same with Jing, his sorrowful eyes towards Yao...
What are your fav that u would rewatch? I like first encounters of Jing and Liu with Yao. Hiw Jing makes Yao blush on many occassions. The great reveal of Yao to Xuan, how Yao protected n battled with him in Xiyang. Xuan and Yao at the swing. All the underwater world scenes of Liu and Yao. How Liu saved a dead Yao. When Jing found dead Yao. The funnies of Yao's sister n Rushuo. The conversation and wisdom of King Haoling and King Xiyan. Etc... etc... etc... 🤣🤣🤣 too many😅😅😅

Definitely a stellar drama with top notch acting of Yang Zi and her 4 ML and all actors! Didnt fail to make me yearn for more, cry buckets of tears, the laugh out loud moments.
With Xuan the first tear jerker was healing of leg and remembrance of all she had done and more so what he had done. That was the beginning of the many tears inducing moments.
With Jing, the only guy she allow herself to be defenseless and opened the door of her heart to welcome him in. Perhaps the reality of life made her desire the pure organic kindness in Jing, who remained kind despite his experience. And yes the million dollar question, why did he not suspect foul play with fiance being a super smart guy? Why he could die with Yao but could leave her too😭
With Liu, the apparent cruel monster with the biggest and most sacrificial heart. Not just for Yao but for his army as well. My heart broke for him many times. I loved their partners in crime mode! Still dont quite appreciate how he torments her though😅 not to mention his always so grand entrances n the trough-is-here bgm. And upon reading spoilers in discussions, he broke me the most.
With Long, i see him more like a supporting role instead of ML. Their marriage was a business contract which i thought most emotionally shallow connection in terms of romance. Perhaps it will be build up in S2...
Not to mention the child actors are superbly excellent inducing smiles and loadful tears. All other supporting and guest actors are good too eg the loyal maid and guard of Jing...
I love the different bgm too eg Qingshui having fun tunes, everytime Liu appears there is this trouble is here bgm😅, Yao singing the folksong on various occassion, Liu's ost😭, song/bgm of Jing's sadness...etc...
Hopefully in S2, Yao can revisit Qingshui as Yao... that would be delightful. Also hoping against hope that in S2, Yao will truely know that beneath the allegiance pledged to army, Liu's heart is beating for Yao - in literal sense coz of bug and emotionally coz of his love. And although he isnt endgame, could we have moments where they each each others heart openly?
Loved the costumes, story, conversations, acting, music, colours... i really hope to see S2 really soon!!!
