Yea as cutie_daisy mentioned it was necessary... maybe it was writer's way of "need to experience the full pain to enjoy the joy of reconciliation to fullest". Nope too painful for me... couldnt bear to watch ep 14 and waiting for tomorrow's episodes hopefully more redemptive 😅...
