On second thought, this ending could mean that unchained love - freedom of running to one's choice - is not a destination but a process. The process of choosing who to journey life with and what kind of life and the future both would want to build. This liberation to choose is in itself a type of freedom - unchained love - not bounded by people, customs or history. So perhaps at the end of drama, when YL and XD ran off hand in hand to "try" overcoming the walls, this was the first step of freedom they envisioned and acted upon. A freedom to decide to debunk the forced marriages bestowed, the freedom of women having a voice and worth, the freedom of choosing who they want to build their future with, the freedom of no master and slave, the freedom of letting go of hatred and seeking revenge and instead chose to live meaningfully together for the now.
Loved the CP of XD and YL. Overall, actors including the detestable Emperor were a delight! Will definitely miss the wity fearless leads!

It does make me wander though, if approvers of screening should provide pre approval before any work is started. It is a shame so much hardwork, time and costs has been poured into a production only to be cut out or at worst rejected completely. That is alot of wasted resources and may cause drama to be disjointed, incoherent and affect production quality which is a poor reflection of their entertainment circle.
