uhhhh I don’t think I’ve ever hated a character more than I do Sanha’s mother. What a narcissistic b. How is everyone so patient with her, it’s so frustrating

Interesting, thank you for answering! So if she said 너+요, it would be impolite because she puts the other person lower?

It just took u some time to understand this brand of comedy. The drama was brilliant right from the beginning.…
Not really, not for me. I expected a silly comedy but all I got was 'silly'. It's still not funny but at least the plot picked up

I hated the first two episodes, they were just incredibly stupid, excessive and slow, even for this type of comedy. I gave the third episode one last chance, mostly because of the cast, and somehow got hooked. I'm not sure if the drama got better or was it me that got used to the vibe, but I'm looking forward to Friday.

Is this good guys? For reference, I've watched Bubblegum of Jung Ryeo won and I enjoyed that. I'm also in love…
Definitely! The first few episodes are rather slow and focus on the reality of Korean education system but after that the romance is romancing

In the first episode when the leads meet for the first time in the pharmacy, why does the FL use a rather informal language with the ML? 나 but still with the -요 ending. Is anyone here fluent in Korean and could explain it to me?

Well there are maybe up to 5 buttons on that thing, one of them could easily be a record button. It's still a more realistic scenario than time travel, right? 😛
It's one of these dramas that requires your undivided attention, otherwise you'll miss things and also won't get the emotions. I've noticed so many new things watching it again! Maybe try giving it one more chance :) And remember it's based on a webtoon, dramas like that have a certain vibe

Maybe she didn't want to listen to it because she was so embarrassed, people react differently. And you can't delete files on an MP3 directly from the device, you need to do it on a computer. That's why she was frustrated. Or at least that's how it was with my old MP3 player. She actually stepped on the MP3 player in the swimming pool scene, they showed that moment.

Most likely. Dramas very rarely show them "naked" most of the time they have clothes on the morning after.
I meant what happens between the scenes when the characters 'wake up'

Suggest me similar slow burn series with mature love concept. I am so done with the Chaebol love stories these…
Got you covered. My Liberation Notes, When The Weather Is Fine, A Piece of Your Mind, Reply 1988, Just Between Lovers, Chocolate (chaebols involved, but definitely worth watching), My Dearest (period drama)

Think that's abit tooo out there- it's a plothole waiting to happen 🙈. I did see another reel though that explained…
That's a good explanation. It's possible they'll simply leave it as a mystery. My theory is that SJ is also a time traveler, going back further than Sol ever has. He told her grandma things to influence Sol's future.

I just read a very weird theory that Sol’s grandmother is actually Sol in the future. This is why she called…
If she was another time traveller Sol, she'd be in Sol's body.

Where? When? I dont see it
This director's dramas are always slow-paced, I doubt that'll change later on. I only hope he has a vision for the romance to develop naturally.

I don't think they'll kiss in that episode. It seems like she'll pull away, which is probably why it looks so awkward. They're still confined by their teacher-student dynamic.

On The Midnight Romance in Hagwon May 25, 2024
Ahn Pan Seok's dramas are always a breath of fresh air compared to the formulaic, mass-produced shows. I appreciate the realism, the way he takes the time to help us deeply understand the story and enjoy full dialogs that almost feel intimate. His productions always provide an insightful commentary on Korea's social issues. I love the nuanced use of music which shifts to dramatic tones when the story's 'villains' appear, even though they are just ordinary people with relatable flaws that we might encounter in our daily lives. Finally, the complete lack of cliffhangers is almost soothing.

Overall, I'm enjoying the drama so far. His portrayal of romance is usually mature and subtle, but I'm not feeling much romance or chemistry yet. There have been moments, but they seem almost too subtle to leave an impression. I had long anticipated this production, and I’d hate to be disappointed.
