Drama is adopted from TQGZ book and pillow books. It is still using source material by TQGZ. Whether its better than book or not, and even if its better than NIF, that amounts to nothing when the idea itself is plagiarized. Lets put aside that issue of comparison and competition for a second, and realize that the idea that's plagiarized, even if its a masterpiece, is still plagiarized.

Irrespective of its comparison with any drama out there, the fact that its "plagiarized" is enough to say that its overrated and not worth 1 percent of the defense its getting on this site. One reason its not rated highly on douban is because its plagiarized. Plagiarism means that its getting defense and recognition deserved by another writer. In my comment, it was a fleeting mention. Other commenters made that fleeting mention into an issue.

Hardly do we come across such a dominating lead in dramas as in this one. The reason I love this drama is because of cheeky, sassy character of Ryoko Yonekura. She is truly amazing. I don't love this drama for its "medical" genre but rather the politics that is shown in the drama. Its a pity hardly anyone tries to go against the system in real life. This is what makes this drama unique since it embodies the wish everyone has but can't be acted upon and has grave consequence when its acted upon in real life. A wish to go against rotten system.

@Boby yang Why would I walk away? So, fanboys/girls don't feel bad? EL isn't the only drama that wasted my time, but it is definitely the greatest letdown of all the dramas that wasted my time. Really? I would defend NIF? Why don't you go check the comment section and discussion forum of NIF for my defense. @Boby yang I only joined this site because I kept reading comments in here of how great EL was in the comments. I kept on watching it hoping that it will get better resulting in 16 hours of wasted time.The only reason I joined this site was to criticize this drama to make people, who aren't liking this drama, realize that it isn't an aberration to dislike this drama. NIF has good enough points to defend itself, I don't need to do that. Lastly, I am not arguing pointlessly. After musicalveggies comment, I was convinced a little bit but fanboys/girls kept on biting back at me so I came back to reply. So, again, you need to grow up for projecting your feelings onto everyone else around you, not me.

@boby yang why would he be jealous of EL being good? He is saying he tried watching it but couldn't. Why don't you grow up. Its not like he is a producer of some competing drama that he has to be jealous of a drama. We are all here to watch good dramas not to be "jealous" of good dramas lol.

@kanha and lifeisbeautiful I think what both of you are trying to say is that "expressing one"s opinion is great and respectful as long it conforms to your opinions". As soon as its against your conception, it becomes disrespectful. This drama is way too overrated without any justification. There are number of dramas of lower rankings that way better than this drama even in romance genre. Thus, if you have my objection to its comparison with NIF, I can say that there are romance dramas out there that are better than this "fad".

@Kanhaa I don't see why criticism of drama should be cause of concern for those who appreciate some drama unless its producer, director or the cast of drama. I don't think anyone else should have any problem with the criticism. Do you or anyone else who defend this drama as if some calamity has happened that I criticized it in my comment have anything to lose if I criticize this drama? Just because anyone want to rationalise their likeness for this drama doesn't mean everyone else has to agree with them. This kind of attitude reeks of arrogance to me. Lastly, if someone didn't like the drama I like, believe me, I won't mind, because I realize that I have nothing to lose from their dislike. However, realizing that do demand certain level of maturity. I hope you will get there soon.

This drama was immensely popular in Korea. Jang Dong Gun has been one of the most bankable stars in South Korea for more than 20 years. As a foreign viewer of Korean dramas and movies, if someone asked me my favorite Korean actor, it would be Jang Dong Gun and Lee Byung Hun. Just look at its Korean ratings and you will get the idea how popular this was in Korea. I guess it doesn't have much popularity on this site because its 5 years old but its pretty good and deserve to be watched by foreign audience.

Great drama. Not for everyone though.If you are fan of realistic depiction of life, this drama is for you although the main premise of the drama itself relies on supernatural. If you are fan of glamour and romance where two mains, high on plastic surgery, engage in an out-of-earth romantic experience, this isn't for you.This drama isn't for binge-watching, although I binge-watched it. I feel if I had watched this drama slowly relishing the plot, I would have enjoyed it more.9/10 for me.

I didn't belittle anyone. I belittled the drama. There are way too many things out there which are not good but are appreciated because they become a fad. If you have the right to appreciate the drama, I have the right to belittle it. In this comment box, there are multiple comments on how some people didn't like the drama and they get the reply that it picks of at this or that episode. A drama that doesn't engages the viewers from start is boring and even its fan accept that 1/3 of its boring, I don't see it as deserving 9.1. You liked it, very cool, I didn't. Nevertheless, despite my tastes being different, I would not be found convincing people to like plagiarized content in an aggressive way.
