It's very difficult for a time travel drama to have a happy ending, even more so given the thriller and mystery genre. The most they can do is an open ending
I would easily watch a drama about han ji pyung's story from childhood to adulthood because his life story is so rich. I think putting him in this love triangle was a waste, I was happy with the series until I found out he was going to be a love competitor for FL. A drama about life between han ji pyung and grandma would be perfect.
It was clear that FL only agreed to marry SML because she have an abandonment trauma and didn't want to live without him best friend. I didn't get attached to the kingdom's storyline because it's always the same thing about the kind king who is always betrayed by his government officials, so the work of the matchmakers was what made me like this drama.
Started out great. But really tanks in the end! Also why is everyone and their mother's in love with Sheng Huai…
