why everyone keep saying Xu Si cleared their problem with money...? it's not just his money, it's his whole job....…
I think having the ex-gf in this drama is supposed to provide us an understanding of XS and how he treats people personally especially when it comes to romantic entanglements. And so, his interaction and how he treats JH is very different from what everyone knows of him so then we (as the audience) should recognize what JH means to him.
Yeah, episode 1 XS would never give up his career and future ambitions for anyone. And yet, by the end, he’s realized that he’s been approaching it all wrong because of JH. His growth slowly happened and reaches a climax with the fall out with JH whereas JH’s growth was much more explicit for the audience.
What forgiveness looks like in a relationship is between the couple and while we (as the audience) might feel like it was or wasn’t enough in what XS did to give JH Teng Yue in the end, it’s really up to JH to decide that. Obviously, the story was written so that JH does accept XS at the end and I think it aligns with her character.
I thoroughly enjoyed this drama and it’s probably one of the better contemporary dramas this year. Simon and Elaine were exceptional as their characters. The chemistry was off the charts and so natural. So many moments of frustration and sadness, but also an abundance of sweetness. The drama provided conclusions for many of the storylines and there was character development for all our leads.
While the ending was a bit abrupt (with the whole running to each other and that’s it), I appreciate the details (e.g. the heels, car, milk tea, cactus plants, etc) that the drama highlighted throughout the last episode. It’s in those details that represent XS and JH’s relationship. It was sad seeing the demolition of Teng Yue, but it also made sense that it was the end of that particular era and a new era of the company has started with the company moving to a new and better facility.
Rising with the Wind is a surprise gem of a drama in 2023 and I hope more people discover it and enjoy it as much as I did.
Even if we had plenty of sweet moments, it was hard to digest because I know angst is coming. To Xu Si, there…
Agreed with your thoughts about the merger. Throughout the recent episodes, I wanted XS to listen to what everyone was telling him about how he needed to break the news to JH sooner than later. But he’s someone who tries to think of every possible outcome before making a move. He’s sharp, but in this instance, emotions are now involved. His mindset has always been profit driven so that it’s a win-win situation. This only works if every party involved feels the same way. JH is not like that and so that’s where lies the problem for him now.
He’s failing to considered JH’s feelings in all this and her ultimate dream for the company. I like that he’s flawed and feels like a real person, but it sucks that he’s gotta learn from his mistake regarding JH and her company.
Oh my goodness. Episode 31 has a chokehold on my heart. So much screen time of XS and JH together. I love how they share vulnerable pieces of the past with each other — XS sharing about why he likes milk tea and the restaurant so much 💕
The natural intimacy they have when they’re snuggled on the couch. JH asking about the speakers and realizing that XS had been falling for her for a while now. Then her admission to falling in love with him. These two keep squeezing my heart with their chemistry and romance!
I’m not ready for the fall out between them. 😭 I want wayyy more episodes like this where we simply see them in love.
I’ve a lot of fave scenes in this episode but the one that gave me the most butterflies is their date in TY…
They are so natural with each other! I think that’s what makes the romance so believable and sweet. Their interactions make me blush and squeal with glee. Kudos to whoever casted them together. 😍 Holding the hands under the table is definitely one of my favorite scenes in this drama.

JH admitting why being jealous is not like her and blaming him for this change in her 🤣
