I'm really amazed at how many people rate this movie as "brilliant". The movie started out okay, but…
You're right, you're assuming a lot :) Well, let me clarify somethings about myself so you would have a better idea about me.
This movie wasn't gory for me (I have seen much more gory stuff before and this movie didn't even phase me), so it's not that. I can appreciate art and art films as well. But art is an arbitrary term and what someone considers to be art, another wouldn't.
I do prefer a more coherent movie than this one. I like something with substance, and while I do enjoy the light-hearted ones (the ones you say have fangirl actors), I didn't appreciate this movie. It started out good and it addressed a social problem in Japan which I liked. But how the story progressed and ended... It was just silly and not the good kind of silly -- specially when considering how it carried itself in the beginning.

When you start your comment like that, it gives me the impression you think I'm gravely wrong about this movie, lol. It's okay, we both have different tastes and that's okay.
I did enjoy the movie just up until the last few minutes when everything went crazy. It had a nice vibe to it and the slice-of-life feel to it was nice, but then they just ruined it with the ending.

C'mon, no Bridal Mask? The soundtrack for that show was very amazing!

Ah, don't worry about it. I don't come here that often (started doing so after chatting with you, but I don't come here a lot anyway).
Yeah, that show was awesome and I specially loved the ending. Gives it a certain surreal feeling to it, lol.
A good ending doesn't need to be a happy one.

Yeah, I can understand. English can be a very tricky language. But my heart goes out more to those who wish to learn either my language (Arabic) or Chinese; both are very hard to learn.
Japanese polite endings are just adding "masu" to the last verb in the sentence, and Korean endings (not sure, just by observation) is adding "yoo" to the end of the sentence.
I just finished watching 49 Days. I'm not sure what you were talking about being messed up, but I absolutely loved the show! Of course, the motivation of one of the characters (if not two) seems very stupid. But I guess that's what makes it more realistic to me.

You're not a native English speaker? Or do you mean the regular school classes?
I don't know how I got my English grammar in check, just thinking about all the exceptions makes my head spin. I just have a "feeling" of what's right and what's wrong when I speak English. So far, it's worked, lol.
I wish my Japanese was the same way. Sigh.

English? Well, I just woke up one day and I realized I knew how to speak English, lol. No, seriously though, I learned it from watching movies and playing video games all day. Weird, huh?

So Dream High 1 is good? I'll check it out then. Dream High 2 is bad? Okay, paws off then.
Tokyo DOGS has Oguri Shun (Hana Kimi and Rich Man, Poor Woman), Mizushima Hiro (Hana Kimi and Mr. Brain) and Yoshitaka Yuriko (Love Shuffle). So, it's a must watch for me, lol.
Hey, you won't wake up knowing another language. You have to learn it and put in effort. It's fun, but it gets frustrating quite a lot. So if you're the type to quit quickly, then it's gonna be hard for you. I've been learning Japanese (admittedly on and off) for over 4 years now. I was just drifting through the language, not putting in that much effort, that's why it took me this long.
If you want help learning it, let me know. I'll direct you to some good websites that will help you a lot. I wish I could learn Japanese the way I learned English.
