Traumatized? Does she get sad ending in that drama?
no she doesnt she gets the freedom she deserved in the end but her whole life was just realllllly emotional and deep. My englısh vocabulary isnt enough to describe what she went through and grow up along the way. It wasnt always bad she had her moments but the growth of her character, the way script was written & her mimic acting was so wholesome. Its hard to come by this in recent series modern or costume... Her character made me feel like as if she was really there. If I watched 'Marvelous Women' around my 18-20s I might had thought its slow facing, very detailed on such small matters and quite heavy? but now Im around my early 30s it hits different! Both her 'Shen Cuxi' and 'Fuca Rongyin' from other serie I mention had very precious friendship with their best girlfriends I have to mention this matter too. This is also so very rare to came by in series...
Now that they are testing waters with sharing new series of him I hope to see more new costume series from him! He is a lot better in ancient series than modern ones in my opinion *-* adds to his charm for sure!
Is it a light drama? or is it full of suffering scenes?
Its not a light serie but its also not full of suffering scenes. They suffer in past both lead girl & guy also their families... Stuff happened and some realtıonshıps were broken but we only see their youth/past time from their flashbacks. Its a healing story while they are still hurt from past & present days also give them some sh*tty problems to get over and stand together.
They start showing from present day about a family and a son who left that family for reasons but he has to return to hometown for a while and we start from there. Lead girl didnt leave the town and still trying to figure out how to live her life while also having such a problematic mother & sister.She is after a revenge for her father. After some first couple of episodes you get the grip of whats happening lead guy has quite crowded family & family relatıonshıp x'D u know makjang but a good makjang in this serie. After some couple of episodes all characters start to heal slowly, facing their problems from past & present all together, having family moments yes they mıght be broken one but they still try to progress for better while standing together. Lead couple also face their feelings for each other & try better. Its worth to watch in my opinion, Im quite sad they dont do daily/ long family dramas like this anymore. Im here for like 4th rewatch in years and wanted to answer by the way because it would be unfair to just leave this serie by readıng the answer before mıne. Producing,writing,characters and acting all deserve better than simply that answer!
I dont want to swear but I really never ever thought I was going to watch such a slapstick when I click play for first episode!!! I was having a headache and from laughing so much (more like snort & wheezing) I dont have it anymore XD....

I still remember how bad and frustrated I felt 'High School King of Savvy' drama because of female character haters! There were even people who take bullying into personal level and made such remarks about her.. Personally I like the way she acted her c haracter there .Her character there was really unique for female lead *-* quite introvert, and awkward kind of person UNTIL she opened up to others. The way she portray the character made it really believable to me even her body language was awesome. I actually had that kind of friend in high school maybe one of the reasons why I saw her acting was that good I dont know..
Prain TPC must have a clause in her contract requesting her appearance in any drama be as homely as possible.…

It was in 'Mirror: A Tale of Twin Cities ' ;__; he was a merman (merfolk is actually gender fluid,they only pick one gender to turn into, when /if they find a person they want to spend their life together...) she was a random clumsy frustrating but very cute and animated human girl!
Im kınd of bitter and feeling awkward because they werent even friendly ın this serie!I was fangirling after only watchıng first 10eps, I thought they casted together agaın lıke both were leads' side servants and all you know.... alas they pair her up with the other servant guy and I felt off watchıng it.
Watched it but ın 1.5 or 2x speed.Something was missing terribly and was quite bland... disappointed because I was so hopeful for another costume serie from Jing Tian.
Yu Zheng was just the producer this time, he wasn't the screenwriter for this drama.

Yeah I know that feeling. I was very careful before starting to novel years ago just because of the age gap. But novel made it verrrry clear there wasnt anythıng awkward and vibe about 'love or like' between them from him to her especıally. In drama they add slow motions while they look at each other and even add musıc at background WHEN she is still a minor which made me uncomfortable... Novel is one of my faves so I didnt drop because I know what kınd of love this precıous pairing has for each other YET I wish drama didnt do those romantic gazing moments between them
