I would like one of these drama to have at least one likeable lead.....Everyone sucks....
All the main actors (male and female) in this drama are great. Check it out.
(And the story is like a Russian doll. You think that's the story, but layer by layer, you'll find out the real story.)

Spring Flower Flame is a bit good-looking, Liu Xueyi didn't know it at all before, the audience of the costume drama with an unfamiliar face is easy to enter the play, and the suspense point is good, as an ancient puppet, the male protagonist completely appreciates and accepts the strength of the female protagonist. Let's talk about it casually.,In addition to the female general character of the second female.,There's a scene where the male and female protagonists go to the night market together to play games.,The male protagonist shoots.,The female protagonist shoots a farther one.,The male protagonist looks at her with complete appreciation.。 Originally, I was going to turn off my Youku membership after watching the past of Bianshui, but I watched five episodes of Spring Flower Flame to renew it.[可怜][可怜][可怜]

I just finished the English-translated novel and it was one of the shortest C-novels I've read so far ? (24 chapters) while the standard C-novel is around 500 chapters max 2K chapters
This is not for feint-hearted because it did contain toxic relationship at the start to the middle then it became a softie towards the end.
- some of the highlights on the novel
* there was no burning of town or city, but defeat of thousands due to deceit hence the downfall of the prince
* the leader of the organization who recruited Mei Lin was originally owned by MJH uncle
* MJH was became invalid at some point and ML had taken care of her including how he soiled himself due to LBM (ugh) ?
* Mei Lin wedded twice
* the emperor's closest eunuch was granted wedding to a man
This CDrama actually veered so far away from the novel hence, separate appreciation should be accorded between novel story and drama story

But being sensitive doesn't mean not being strong. He has personality, the plan is in motion, and his determination will not waver. Plus, he's a martial artist too. He understands everything that's going on around him, and he sees through the manipulations. (And he's endured years and years of emotional pain and unfair judgment against him.)

He calls Mei Lin: "beauty" (it sounds similar: "Meiren").
Okay.

It's bad how much I enjoy angst, when they were fighting I was like yeesss go on!🍿My favourite was when Murong…
No. I don't want them to suffer. The most poignant pain is the one that has no tears, it's hidden in the eyes, but deep in the heart. (And mostly he interprets this very well). And she doesn't understand him, she doesn't realize his love for her, and so she suffers. PS: But in the last episode, the 13th, I loved it, she started to understand him. He was in the bathtub - separated by the curtain. While his eyes had no tears, but we could see the pain in his heart, she shed tears because when he explained all the pain in all these years, she started to really understand him.

("it seems they were 99% touting the ML and his utter devotion and love for the FL and not so much the other way around so I put it in the back burner.")

I think you'll only understand it by watching the drama. Love is not in appearance, but in the soul. Even though she was more beautiful than her first face, he fell in love with her insides.

The title related to the blossoming of flowers, shows in the drama the blossoming of love. In addition, the entire drama is full of investigative cases (which in themselves contain some lesson for human beings). And in the meantime they discover themselves.

The drama suffered a lot due to the hate of some towards Ju Jing YI, because they were so attached to the interpretation of the first actress in the first two episodes, that they didn't want to have changed. (But I loved the interpretation of both actresses), each with their own particular characteristics. (And also the happy interaction of all of them on the filming set).

Title Kill Me Love Me Spoiler
Doesnt look like. She dies.
(Thoughts on the (perhaps possible ending):
I think (the trailer) they are putting in the scenes to fool us. The scene of the whip against the flower petals near the cemetery is in the book (it was someone else's body), and she is alive and recovering elsewhere.
In the drama trailer, there are many new scenes (as the book is very short) and there have been many improvements to the story. Then, in the trailer, another scene to deceive us: They dressed in red wedding clothes (both lying in bed, she unconscious), and he with a knife in his hand, looking like he's going to kill himself, someone commented that this reminds a lot the story of Romeo and Juliet (Romeo killed himself because he thought Juliet was dead), but she had just drunk a substance that makes a person appear dead. When Juliet wakes up and sees that Romeo has died, she also kills herself.
PS:In the trailer Jing He carries Mei Lin on his back, she is unconscious. Then there is a scene of him drinking in front of a river, with her leaning on his shoulders, unconscious. (It could be that he thinks she's really dead). And another (behind scene), him taking care of her near the tree. In these 3 scenes she and he are wearing the same clothes.
Let's combine these scenes with the scene of them dressed in red. It could be that he thinks she died (and for a moment he thought about killing himself), but I think it's so illogical with his character (they both need to fulfill their revenge first), he wouldn't do this desperate act without having fulfilled his goals, for more than he loves her (and besides, he knew that their goals could bring risks to their lives).
PS:
There are behind-the-scenes scenes: Mei Lin and Jing He sitting on a balcony admiring the flowers (I think), as it is in the book. He, in emperor's robes.

This scene was the last to be filmed (I don't know if it will be the last in the drama). When the actors finished filming it, they looked happy and proud.
PS:
Besides the fact that Ye Qin already mentioned in one of the episodes that he was going to use a substance that makes it seem like the person is dead. He was going to use it to help Mei Lin be freed from prison. (But it wasn't used.) Maybe the writers put this here, to warn us that this could happen later.
