So, I’m not going to romanticize his actions or enjoy watching his personality deteriorate. However, for the necessary plot twists to occur, his questionable nature had to be preserved in some way. It seems the screenwriters managed to do this successfully; they kept that essence—a flawed, morally ambiguous character destined for a transformation (which is essential to the book). Up to episode 26 (where I am now), he seems like a perfect hero—even the forced marriage is understandable.
