I too get annoyed by when they translate titles like "oppa" into something like "brother" or changing it into the first name, because then the subbers are making the decision of what he is to her for the one who watches. "Oppa" can mean so much and it's better to just leave it as "oppa". An explanation shouldn't even be necessary because it's so easy to just google "oppa" and you'll get your explanation.
