They actually had an LGBTQ+ supervisor, it was in the credits. I'm afraid you interpreted some things wrong. No one had sex behind anyone's back. It's just Eiji's sperm that took. And Eiji just succumbed to societal and family expectations, not that what his parents said changed who he really is.
I know it might not make sense if one can't even imagine it or relate, but in societies where being filial is a thing and is regarded as being important, cutting ties with parents isn't that simple. Not in the sense that it seems to be in western cultures. The more the times change, the more this is also changing but even then it can be slow and it depends from person to person or family to family.
And the bullies, I think it's possible they were sent by the teacher's wife. She was the most furious about the affair and was the one who brought up Xiang Wan "being taught a lesson or he wouldn't understand to leave them alone."

Given that propofol is an anaesthetic and not a chosen drug to get high, with that combination, I have to wonder, was the marijuana medical marijuana? Was he using it for other reasons other than the high? These are things we obviously don't know, but it seems clear the man is going through something and needs help.
His substance use problems shouldn't adversely affect his entire career in terms of cancelling him but with SK being the way it is about drugs, that's a tall hope. I hope at least Netflix doesn't cancel the already completed works that are due to air. As for him, hope he recognises that he is headed a very treacherous path and gets help to prevent this from progressing to dangerous results.
