For me, what gets me the most is when they over do their acting. There is no normal person that talks, walks, or acts in those manners. An example of this is Fated to Love You. I am a huge fan of the Taiwanese version, I've watched it multiple times and it makes me cry every single time. I watched one episode of the Korean version and immediately dropped it. I knew that there was no way I would ever be able to get emotionally invested in the drama, when they don't even show real emotions.
That is my number one pet peeve of KDramas, followed by the lack of good kiss scenes and I really don't believe that they are abstinent to sex well into their 30s. Or when their first kiss doesn't happen until they are 30, seriously??? This kind of things just make me question everything.
I started watching when I was 11 years old, now I am almost 23. So it's almost been 12 years for me I remember I used to have a notebook in which I wrote down all the dramas I wanted to watch or was interested, plus all the dramas I had completed and some sort of score, this was way before kisskh. It took me 2 days to get everything from my little notebook to kisskh. I also watched Nine Tailed Fox but had to stop mid way because I couldn't find good quality versions of the drama, and to be honest to this day I am still not sure how to download the episodes. I also remember MySoju.com and how sad I was when it got taken down. I think I went into a frenzy for almost 2 weeks. I really miss their rankings of dramas that's how I decided what to watch. But thanks to the fact that MySoju was taken down I found Viikii.net, that's right! I am going old school, that's what Viki used to be called. I've also found myself to become quite picky about the dramas that I decide to watch, not to say that I won't watch an extremely overused plot, if it's well executed. What can I say, I am a hopeless romantic! I've also branched out from Korean dramas to now Japanese, Taiwanese, Hong Kong, China, Philippines, and Thai.
I've been a drama addict for almost 12 years and I've got to say I just can't see myself stopping. I really enjoyed this article, remembering when I first got started and how difficult it was to find good quality videos. My mom waking up in the middle of the night to find me laughing or crying. And during summer breaks do nothing but bench watch dramas. Now the community has grown so much, I've met a lot of people who watch dramas. It's not as odd to say "I like Asian dramas", because now I don't have to explain myself as to what it is. People, even if they've never watched Asian dramas themselves, they at least know about it.
Oh DramaLand! How you've grown! Cannot wait for more!!! <3
I agree, I wish the drama was longer. I just felt like it didn't conclude, like there was something still missing. I am also upset that they set up a love story but it went no where, kept it all platonic. I don't like been teased.
Would someone help me out and tell me where I can find a good quality version of this drama?
I tried Viki, DramaFever, and YouTube. I did find one on YouTube but it was really bad quality and I normally wouldn't mind it if it wasn't because the female lead sounded like a male.
Please if someone could he me I would really appreciate it.
