Yes, there is romance from our detective and the former assassin. There is a secondary couple the leads best friend and a spy. It's a happy ending but with a twist where the story can continue to at least a second season. Every is alive at the end.

It gives me vibes of Charlie's Angels and Leverage - it's got an edge with just enough camp comedy.

I thought it was just me having issues with the time tracking. They could not find pre-teens to play the younger version. But how does it make sense at a 10yo girl can talk like that to adults at least the emperor's brother.

Ok, if we cannot get at least a season 2, can we get a follow-up novel translated into english (and any other language)?

If you liked Love O2O, which I loved. I recommend the surprising good Perfect and Casual. I believe it was 24 episodes and is now completed.

Did you see the movie version of Dating in the Kitchen titled This Is Not What I Expected (2017)? I really enjoyed that one for many reasons but one is she was older and a little more mature than the FL in the series.

Funny, I'm a 2.5 years into the dramaworld and of all the ones listed here, I've only seen Joy of Life. I haven't finished the first episode of Tientsin Mystic.

I started my Cdrama world with Love O2O (series and film, I was confused), then all of Ding Mo books turned shows When a Snails Falls in Love (liked the novel better), Love Me f You Dare, Our Glamorous Time, Memory Lost - if you need action/thriller with your love story, I recommend.

If you're looking for a Cdrama from 2020, I highly recommend Ancient Detective!!!!!

Is the series postponed because of COVID? It says that there are 24 episodes but the series is completed September 29th. Last I checked episode up to 14 have been released.

It looks like the series of movies is on Netflix, but not the series.

Finished! I really enjoyed it. 12 episodes, about 20 minutes each, it a fast watch but has a lot! I would not mind more!
