he had the worm, maeda planted it in him... that was shown in flashback.. he was fighting against the corrupt guys until 1 year ago when he underwent the surgery and worm was removed... so he lost all his memories..

but then Maeda brought him back by planting the worm again because she didn't like him forgetting her and living a happy life

if it wasn't then you shouldn't have asked the question

and memory loss is absolutely needed in this story because those are painful memories

becausse mom was Maeda's nanny and cared/bothered more about her own child and maeda liked her nany

or she was jealous of mom's beauty... with FL her beef is not on beauty but that ML pays attention and nanny #1 priority (Maeda likes to hurt where it truly hurts)

same old story.. what do you expect from such a drama.. monster movies are about gore and action and it delivers on that front
