that's what.. mom's style is to show her daughter that she does not need to live with burden and scowl face. Her mom has had a tough life and yet she enjoys life..
Mom's character has been shown to be quite mature in handling things, finding ways when normal ways don't work, she is good with people, grasping situations... so i don't think she is flippant but rather on purpose being carefree
like with the dad, don't think mom ever blamed dad.. and now that he is back and she knows he was always sincere, she is trying ways to get him back into Jinhee's life... the poor guy isn't exactly at fault.. he didn't know he had a daughter and he was trying to find mom who had disappeared

i think there are two men in black - murderer and the guy who is patrolling at nights. One of them is Jinhee's friend who is a reported (we learn of his job in ep 6) ..
Murder has to be someone who has access to convinience store cctv.. because police hid the footage and fact that witness was visible and identified from the footage. However, we saw black hooded guy find that clip to identify witness.
Now, either reporter friend found it and hence next day moved in with them.. OR.. killer has access to convinience store video = can be the guy who keeps talking about streetlight or could be a part time worker/someone in that cafe who is the school kid we saw in ep 6
He is FL's first love/best friend who is close to the family. They go way back and seems like he comes to stay…

What is the theory on the black cap guy/murderer? I am thinking the guy staying at Jinhee's house is a reporter. He is staying here purposely because he is here to get a scoop on the murder given police haven't solved it yet. So, the black cap guy is him. But, this black attire guy is different from the black attire guy captured while attacking the woman.
The murderer is someone else, but the one who has been following is Jinhee's friend/first love.

Now, initially, there were a couple of scenes where the murderer was following Jinhee's mom when Jinhee's friend came to pick her up, and the friend noticed that.. as a reporter i am positive he started his own investigation.
The murderer is someone who has access to CCTV footage. Breaking into police footage means he is a policeman but looks less likely. So, someone from the convenience store - either the guy who always greets Jinhee and his mom, or even the guy Jinhee reached out to for footage in ep 6, or if this school kid turns out to be the younger brother of the convenience store guy
i did not understand, when LJ was talking about warm scent, and interviewer asked him if he is referring to his first love.. why was CJ smiling and smelling himself etc?
I am not sure but it looks like there will be. There are already two possible love interest for the FL! Maybe…
he is in best friend category.. though the question is why is this character even there in the first place? Comic relief? To show how much of a loser FL is? force fitted second male lead who realizes he loved the girl? to make mL jealous, but then why have him...it could be any random encounter and a couple of episodes of date to make ML jealous...
I think they are making it obvious that the guy who complains about the light is the perpetrator!
but he is not the same actor in black.. he is suspicious but i think this drama will not give it away so easily.. so he might be responsible for some other wrong doing..

i think either she doesn't want to scare Jinhee or she doesn't know how serious the situation is because she has no victim protection support
