Noey has to compelete 12th - yr to go while Thi is about to graduate.. 5 yrs. diff at the minimum (considering Thi's course is a 4 yr course). And, for any proper love relationship to flourish Noey needs to graduate.. find job so that they can be a proper couple.. which btw, would put Thi in a bracket, where he needs to have found his type of job/future

And, anyway society and legally, high school-grad would create problems. Thi himself won't be comfortable with that.. so even bare minimum it is a wait fo 3 yrs (1 yr 12th, freshman, and second yr.. by 3rd year students are fairly mature in terms of what they want to do, prepare etc)

To be honest, when original trailer dropped.. they actually planned all of this -
1. Sound-gun-tinn triangle. In one of the interviews gemini confirmed that was the plan but did not happen finally, and THAT IS AWESOME
2. The whole i want to sing for you and if you don't come to the concert then i am going to get angry - this was going to happen but didn't.. SO AWESOME
3. Gun being oblivious to tinn's crush for long .. was going to happen.. but didn't .. so awesome

its been circulating for a while.. gun in school uniform, and tinn's mom sitting.. looks like serious conversation.. gun in standing politely, head hanging low

with amount of condom foreshadowing.. pretty sure that's where we are going .. he he

What option does Noey have. He realizes, which he vocalizes, he has entered 12th - 1 yr to complete, while Thi is about to graduate.. to be an equal partner in love (and noey has been shown to be acutely aware of this fact that anything real is possible only after his graduation)..

he can wait, study hard, do everything.. but Noey is not someone who would hold back Thi from progressing.. it is too much to accept a 22/23 yr old to wait another 5 yr until Noey gets his parents approval - career, marriage, stability.. there is so much that can happen in life and stopping Thi from making those choices would be wrong..

Thi wouldn't be able to choose his career freely, which country/city he wants to settle in etc etc

noey thinks he needs to let Thi go so he breaks his heart because noey ain't good enough for thi, atleast not now.. and it is easily a 5 yr wait before anything can happen

now we also know the real reason why Tiw is so hung up on matching Sound with someone :D

i don't think we will get separation.. gunn might avoid tinn for sometime thinking he is affecting his academics and his mom doesn't like him.. but pretty sure they will resolve it in one episode.. because that would be when Tinn gets angry with mom, leaves.. and we see mom crying holding his photograph and dad consoling..

i have faith.. they will resolve it quickly

The fact that precious Tinn did not meet the doctor, is going to be such a red flag for Tinn's mom , and she will blame music club - 1 week with music club and tinn is already not focusing on his career.. i think this is good enough to warrant mom to go and have one on one talk with gun (i guess ep 10 or ending of ep 9)

lol.. i legit thought Tinn would tell the student council to not buy soap :P .. dissapointed.. him and his fantasies.. man has been yearning for 2 years now

Thing is , there was absolutely no reason to show us the scene that Por is taking tuition and so is tiw..
that scene exists to only tell us that Por and Tiw are interacting with each other and spending time with each other outside of their respective groups and without anyone's knowledge

So, eventually, i think we will indeed get Por-Tiw were dating behind everyone's back
