Your post is too long. Apologies for not really going line by line. But, from what i read i don't think you addressed the points i am making.

I stand by what i said. It does not have the happy ending in context of the novel. Audience/ fans of the novel are given that consolation prize to balance censorship and fans' expectations.

If it weren't for that, you would have received not a parting away ending but all hunky dory and good ending.

An actor's interpretation is out of context here. He played a character , he will obviously talk about that. You don't need him to tell you what drama has shown clearly. But, the point of discussion here is does any of this indicate a happy ending in BLs .. No!

and the norm still seems to be open endings or sad endings.. atleast definitely not clear happy endings.

my point is you don't and shouldn't drag this character dev in motion pictures.. people don't have patience.. you need to keep things balanced which this show fails too + choppy editing in initial episodes

i don't know.. i find myself watching only main couple scenes.. and ff rest of it.. even ZL's indv scenes ..

team has not been able to adapt the novel to tv screenplay. In novel, you can spend time developing each character , situation. Movies or drama/ motion pictures are different.. you need to hold audience's attention.

Leads are cute though and acting wise hit it off with each other really really well

SS is popular, so drama could bring her back. if she is still popular then they will find a romantic interest for her to stay relevant in the story (like desperate housewives) .. but her story is over in the original context.. and it will only dilute her character over time if they choose to retain her
