Right like when they are in the carriage headed to the palace and then the mom is like "Oh right! Here are some life saving rules for the palace --" and lists them off very quickly, and CSS is like "This would have been helpful if you explained when I had time to practice and remember. Telling me now is useless." They really made the mother character terrible in the drama -- constantly criticizing CSS without providing any actual constructive guidance or learning. I suppose hiring YS as a tutor can count for something, though it benefits all the Cheng children not just CSS.
