i think it's because 1. they usually are less than the average 16 episodes we usually see, giving much less time to tell a story and 2. individuals binging and watching a show weekly experience it differently. also to note that netflix dramas that do release weekly are oftentimes written by a different team of writers because they also air on sk channels, while whoever writes/directs dramas like black knight are strictly netflix.
